Chewy ran out of the canned food I usually serve to my oversized clowder, and so the operator who called to inform me of that suggested more Organix, since there was one case already in my order because I wanted to try it. I should have stuck to trying only one flavor, but I went out on a limb and switched all four cases out for this new brand. The first time I put it out some of them nibbled at it. But after that, it simply doesn't get eaten. I have 40 cats, there are one or two who will go around and clean up a couple of plates, but for the most part it is completely wasted. Forty cats is a pretty good test group, and the food utterly failed. Forty cats is a pretty good test group, and the food utterly failed. I'm loathe to be negative about anything that is the product of someone else's hard work because I know the company is sincere and appreciate any company that strives to create a grain-free cat food. But the only thing I can say about it, with regrets and apologies to the company, is that I'm very disappointed in it and won't buy it again. (This is no reflection whatsoever on Chewy or their operator, it was my decision to take the leap with Organix, and I will continue to always order from Chewy because of their integrity and the convenience of their superlative website, free shipping and the fact that they deliver right to my door. Chewy always gets an A+++.) … more

  • They don't like it

It seems very good packaging and high quality. But none of my cats really eat it. I am lucky to get the can used.

  • Give it time

I was sorry to read some of the reviews from people looking for a low phosphorus alternative to prescription food, but their cats hated it. That was my situation. I avoid giving my family non-organic food and that includes the fur babies. Pesticide isn't our favorite flavor! I got this for our cat with failing kidneys because none of the prescription foods are organic. She refused to eat it at first--but like many cats, she refuses to eat anything new. (Maybe it's a genetic survival mechanism?) I changed over VERY gradually, adding a little bit more to her old food each week. Now she loves this flavor and I'd have a hard time switching her to something else. Her lab work is holding steady so I was sorry to read some of the reviews from people looking for a low phosphorus alternative to prescription food, but their cats hated it. That was my situation. • Great organic food

My rescue cat has severe skin problems so I started feeding her this organic food and her skin has improved drastically. Hair is starting to grow where there was raw skin before.

  • Not 1 of our 6 cats would touch this

    By on

You know a food is bad when not 1 of 6 cats will eat it, not even our outside feral cat who eats almost everything. I was speaking to a women at the pet store who has 7 cats and she told me the same thing about this food. I wish they would have liked it as I feel the ingredients are very good however that does not matter if they will not touch it.

  • pate

If I had known this was a pate I wouldn't have ordered, my cats do not eat pate. I had to give it away.

  • Went uneaten

    By on

I was looking for a non-prescription option for a low-phosphorous food for my cat with kidney disease. I opened the can, and by the smell, thought, "My cat isn't going to eat this." I was right. It smells horrible, and my cat wouldn't even try any.

  • My baby goes No, No, No

    By on

I gave it 5 stars based on ingredients which I think are wonderful. However my baby was not impressed like mama was and wouldn't even try it. Honestly I think he'd starve himself rather then eat this food so I began mixing it with kibble so he would eat. It would be great if the recipe was reformulated so it's more appealing (and less stinky) while maintaining nutritional value.

  • very prompt service, as usual, but cans of organix dented

    By on

I am usually very pleased with Chewey's servcie. The cans of the case of Organix turkey I ordered were dent. I didn't see evidence that the dents were enough to let air escape into the cans, so I am serving them to my cats. If I were shopping in my local pet food store (where I could see what I was getting), I certainly would not purchase dented cans. My cats are not wild about this food, so I mix it with food better to their taste, as I'm hoping they will soon be more accepting of it, as they need foods with lower phosphorus.
