Chewy ran out of the canned food I usually serve to my oversized clowder, and so the operator who called to inform me of that suggested more Organix, since there was one case already in my order because I wanted to try it. I should have stuck to trying only one flavor, but I went out on a limb and switched all four cases out for this new brand. The first time I put it out some of them nibbled at it. But after that, it simply doesn't get eaten. I have 40 cats, there are one or two who will go around and clean up a couple of plates, but for the most part it is completely wasted. Forty cats is a pretty good test group, and the food utterly failed. Forty cats is a pretty good test group, and the food utterly failed. I'm loathe to be negative about anything that is the product of someone else's hard work because I know the company is sincere and appreciate any company that strives to create a grain-free cat food. But the only thing I can say about it, with regrets and apologies to the company, is that I'm very disappointed in it and won't buy it again. (This is no reflection whatsoever on Chewy or their operator, it was my decision to take the leap with Organix, and I will continue to always order from Chewy because of their integrity and the convenience of their superlative website, free shipping and the fact that they deliver right to my door. Chewy always gets an A+++.) … more

  • wanted to give my sick cat the best

One of my cats has been diagnosed with a rare skin cancer and was given 6 to 9 months to live. I ordered this food thinking I wanted to make his life as good as I could with good quality products. He wasn't crazy about it on its own, I mix it with other food. He is two months in and doing well

  • Castor and Pollux canned cat food

    By on

I bought Castor and Pollux brand canned cat food-Turkey and Seafood + Turkey and Salmon flavors for two of my cats who have the beginning of chronic kidney disease. These two products are lower in phosphorous. The problem with both of these canned products, although good has kernels of rice in them. The cats don't like them! It might be better for Merrick do grind the kernels of rice before putting them in the canned cat food.

  • Cats won't touch it

I was hopeful that my 3 cats would like this food. I have an older cat with kidney disease who needs a lower protein/lower phosphorous food. Organix was on the top of my vet's list, so I ordered 2 cases. Unfortunately, the cats refuse to eat it. I've tried mixing it with something they really enjoy (like tuna) but they are not fooled. I guess it's like trying to get your kids to eat broccoli - adding a little cheese isn't going to make it more palatable for them!

I have 14 rescues and no one will eat it. It was a waste of money that I really don't have to waste! On the other hand Chewy is great and highly recommend them as a company!

  • Good food, just not the Turkey flavors

    By on

My cat loves the chicken varieties of Organix, but not the Turkey varieties. Perhaps she does not like the Turkey because they are mixed with seafood (why?)..rather strange combo. In other brands of cat food, turkey is a favorite for her.

  • Sounds good, but...

    By on Top 25 Contributor

I am used to feeding our cats "clean" meat that is human grade. So, when I rinse its cans, they don't smell much in a recycle bin. I expected Organix to have clean meat because it supposedly uses organic meat, etc. But, I was really disappointed to find out how the food has unusual odor and the cans smell horrible even after rinsing. Very surprised and disappointed.
