  • Concept is good for wall mounts but too small

    By on

This door is very tiny. My grown cats have to crouch down and crawl through it. I like the door liner idea for installing in a wall but again the measurements are off. I bought 1 extra liner and needed 2 for the way they connect together. The locks are very flimsy and you have to reach through the wall to the outside to lock them. The door gets installed on the outside that has the locks on it. So, what you see in their picture is showing the inside looking out. Only the white frame goes on the inside wall. The locks are attached to the outside frame. If you have a very thin wall, then it isn't so bad, but my walls are over 5" thick. The door is much to hard for the cats to push open. They refuse. We have to keep the door open which defeats the purpose. If you use the extensions to put it in a wall the door gets stuck open if the cat walks in the door.

  • Durable, cleanable, easy install

    By on

Installed this cat door for a friend of mine, and it was super easy to install. It closes airtight and it's easy for the cat to push through. I install this in an exterior wall that was approximately 6 1/2 inches thick. I used three spacer adapters also sold by cat Mate. The provide a template made cutting holes in both sides of the wall super easy. The Tunnel spacer pieces made for a really nice installation. Highly recommend.

  • Great Service - Good Product

Easy directions to install - be sure and plan if you are placing it in a wall.. takes alittle more planning - as I did - to build the 'walls' for the inside (to the outside) entrance face. Some folks may want the extra 'extensions' whereas I cut a nice 'floor' from a recycled plastic cat little container and screwed it in place on four corners on top of the 'floor' interior board to eliminate possible splinters - THEN put the exterior (flap) and the interior (open door). Finished very nicely - plus had painted it to match the exterior color. Oh - I really like the flap tinting - as it's seems reflective on the exterior and easy to see out from the interior...for the kittie...to scope things out Easy directions to install - be sure and plan if you are placing it in a wall.. takes alittle more planning - as I did - to build the 'walls' for the inside (to the outside) entrance face. • Works great. Easy to install.

I installed this by myself. I had to take door off hinges so I could lay it flat to mark and cut . Looks like it came as part of the door.

  • Good, clean door

Easily installed and thus far working well. The lock mechanism is a little hard to operate and in time could get stuck or even break. But so far it's doing what it's supposed to do.

  • Nice door but not what I wanted

    By on

This is a very nice quality door. It looks nice and is well made. It's also a nice size - not too tiny for a full size cat, but not large enough for a dog to get through. However, I wanted something with a flap that could be removed and this one wouldnt without breaking it off; this would be fine except then you can't seal the door. Also, since my cats are used to a door without a flap, I feared that they wouldn't be comfortable having this one. The door has a kind of fringe lining the flap and a magnet on the bottom to keep it shut and keep weather out. The cat would have to give it a pretty firm push to get the flap to open, and I have my doubts that mine would be comfortable with that.

I really like this cat door. It's a brown color that looks very nice on my brown wood doors. Very easy install.

  • Cat likes it

My 14 year old cat used it easily--her previous door was broken by the new puppy putting her head in repeatedly. Had no problem installing in our insulated door--liner is really nice. Looks neat and clean. I really like the extra locking options (my old door only had slide-in panel to lock)--sturdy locks and I use locking options a lot.
