So far the product is working as described. I haven't had much difficulty positioning the magnet so that the front faces correctly.
As long as there are no other cats in the neighborhood with the same system, it seems to work well.

I was supper excited to receive this cat door as a way to let my two cats come in and out during the finicky Florida weather days while I'm at work. First impression is that it was a little redder in color than what I would use to describe brown, but oh well. The real problem is upon seeing how it works that it is so cheaply made that it was defective, door will only swing out and not in even when set to the proper setting. Honestly save your pennies and use them on the new technologies that use your pets microchip number instead of a heavy magnet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Steve Electronic cat door..my thoughts
The product was easy to install although I installed it on one of the lower thin panels of a craftsman style door. I simply purchased bolts and screws to do the install which replaced the 8 screws included. I thought the fact the magnet sticks to the rabies tag would cause issues, but the rather rotund cat has had no problem with entry. This was a great purchase.

I have had the Cat mat magnetic door in the past and it worked great. This new model is terrible. It even required me to redo the hole for installation as it was SMALLER than the old model (overall). Having paid to have it installed I now find out that unless the magnet is facing a specific way it won't work. How are you supposed to keep the magnet facing the correct way when it is on a swivel? There is no way to train your cat if you go through trying to put them through it and the door staying locked
