  • My cat loves it!

    By on

Hi. 1st day of playing, my cat couldn't get enough. Guarded it all thru the night. 2nd day while i interacted w/him & toy, i notuced he had trouble getting his paws in the slots 2 push the ball along the track. 3rd day, unless I'm playing it w/him he has very little interest. I think because slots are 2 narrow for his paws. Probably good size 4 kittens tho-wven tho he's a bit over 1 yr old now. Also, no end caps were included, as shown in instruction booklet.

  • Much-loved, and long-lasting

Our younger cats have several sets of Cat-It tracks, and one of the first things they did was find the *one* section with a loose connection, get the cover off, and steal both balls out of the track. We found the hard ball, but the flashing one remains lost somewhere, so we got a replacement pack. Decided to put one in the track and leave one for them to bat around the house, and they absolutely love both options. The ball on the track has had more play (probably just because it can't get lost!) and sometimes gets stuck on, flashing all the time, but if we give it a push then it goes back to normal. None of them have stopped flashing yet, and that's the part our cats love, so they continue Our younger cats have several sets of Cat-It tracks, and one of the first things they did was find the *one* section with a loose connection, get the cover off, and steal both balls out of the track. We are keeping this toy, because it does "work" but not really as much as we thought it would. It needs to be hit or poked harder than kittens (or even older cats) are likely to do. We put one of these two illuminated balls in the Catit system, along with the not-illuminated ball that comes with one of the track models, and the heavier not-illuminated ball, when poked, seems to jolt the other ball into its "illumination" cycle. So, we have those two balls in that track. BUT, the illumination does not last long (with one kick, that is), and that seems to frustrate the cats. They love the Catit track, but we really would like to see an illuminated ball that actually stays lit for a longer period of time, and also does not require such a jolt. For instance, sometimes I intervene just to jolt the ball to illuminate. As for the second ball that comes in this set, it seems to work well on the floor by itself (not in the track), being hit around by the kittens, since it is likely to be hit against a piece of furniture or a wall, and that jolts it into the illumination cycle. … more

  • One died within the first minute

    By on

The kittens like it, but within 10 seconds after I handed the first one to the kittens, it won't light up again. The second one is still working. I am a bit worried about the two small batteries inside; hopefully the balls won't crack.

  • 1 wouldn't turn off

    By on

The second I pulled the little plastic stopper out of both I thought they were just blinking because of the motion I caused. After I dropped them on the ground 1 of them actually stopped blinking but the other kept going til it died. My 8 month old cat had no interest in these blinking balls at all. I don't know maybe just his age or something but seemed more like the blinking light wasn't appealing to him.

one of the balls doesn't light up unless it gets hit hard but other wise the cat seems to like chasing them around.

  • easy to find under furniture

    By on

My cats all LOVE this toy. So much so that my Siamese (evil genius that she is) has figured out how to remove the covers off the track and scoop the balls out. Fortunately, the blinking light makes it super easy to find it once the cats have moved on to more 'self directed' play. ;-) Overall, these balls are the only rolly ball toys I will get for my cats now.

  • Wonderful, stimulating toy!!

    By on

I have a rescued cat who is mostly blind, due to a kitten-hood head injury, so It has always been difficult stimulating her to play. These balls are so bright, though, that she can follow them, and she absolutely adores them! They light up at the smallest touch or vibration--even just when she walks by them! She goes bananas batting them around! My only complaint with these is that the battery is not replaceable. However, are cheap enough to buy several. These are definitely a thumbs up!

  • Great attention getter, especially with the ball track!

    By on

A couple of my cats LOVE swatting at these balls. They flash red llght when they are rolled, or when something moves near them! These aren't their #1 favorite toy, but these are one they go to, and will play with for a while over most other balls! Kids (human) like them a lot too, which is a plus! They do light up often when no one is playing, and one seems to light up far easier than the other, so perhaps a QC issue? A toy worth getting for the track system Catit makes. Generally a good toy, and having balls that light up just adds to the fun! Nice that they light up too so they don't get stepped on too!
