  • Cats eat it and it's good for them!

    By on

My cats all eat this. We like Dave's because of the high quality ingredients (and NO GRAINS) and reasonable price. We switched from Wellness because their prices became increasingly outrageous. I have many cats to feed, including foster and feral cats, and they all eat this. Give your cats some time to adjust if they don't like it at first. If you've been feeding them dry food, it will take time (don't cave in and give them dry food). If you've been feeding them junk food (canned junk food) with a bunch of artificial flavors, grains, etc., it will take time to adjust to eating a higher quality food. Cat's should not eat grains, it's not a part of their natural diet except in very minimal amounts My cats all eat this. • My two cats won't eat it

I read other reviews comparing Dave's to Wellness. I gave it a try because Wellness is expensive. But my cats will not eat Dave's.

  • Cats weren't crazy about it

    By on

My cats are pretty partial to the chicken variety of Dave's, but not this one. They'd eat it, but begrudgingly. I think they just don't like turkey as much. Nothing wrong with the food, just warning chicken fans that more finicky cats may not take to it. Chicken it is.

All my cats gobble this up. They aren't picky, but they do love this food.

My Siamese cat, Bleu, just loves Dave's products - especially the chicken or turkey formulas

  • My cats really enjoy this flavor

    By on

After having tried all the Dave's flavors, my 4 cats finally all agree that this flavor is what they like (followed by Chicken). There's usually never any leftovers and they are truly satisfied. Great pick for your cat!

  • As canned catfood goes, Dave's one of the best

    By on

This food has less protein and more fat than Dave's Chicken Formula and Turkey Formula. The kittens did seem more enthusiastic about it, though. Maybe it was just because it was something different. As canned catfood goes, Dave's is probably one of the best for the money that we could find in our researches. It smells good too -- like actual chicken or turkey. We have one kitten who can and will eat anything we put in front of her, and she loves Dave's food. Our other kitten was sensitive to the flaxseed in Dave's Gobblishious food (after X-Rays, enemas, & blood tests, that's the best guess what did it). He still wasn't eating very well and started losing weight after we discontinued This food has less protein and more fat than Dave's Chicken Formula and Turkey Formula. Our other kitten was sensitive to the flaxseed in Dave's Gobblishious food (after X-Rays, enemas, & blood tests, that's the best guess what did it). He still wasn't eating very well and started losing weight after we discontinued the flaxseed food. Bloodwork showed high white blood cell counts (indicating inflammation). There are ingredients in most canned catfood, including Dave's, that can contribute to inflammation (guar gum & carageenan). So we decided to make our own food and add a vita-mineral mix. For the recipe for "I'll do anything for my cat diet" and the vita-mineral mix see "The Natural Cat" by Anitra Frazier with Norma Eckroate. We'll be feeding that exclusively to him from now on and feed the rest of the Dave's food to our other kitten at least one meal a day until it's gone. After that, we'll just feed our own mix that we know doesn't have anything that will cause digestive problems. … more

  • They like this one also!

Kittens scarfed this variety down also. I have 2 or 3 more to try. So far, they like them all except the Cat's Meow, which is made in a different place anyways. I am not going to try the seafood varieties though.

  • This flavor is good

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I've tried other Dave's canned cat food but this one stands out. All my cats enjoy this flavor Turkey & giblets. It is pate style. The one flavor that stands out of Dave's food as a DISLIKE is the Cats Meow. Oddly enough, it wasn't something any of my cats liked.
