  • My cats meow when I serve this because they are hungry and won't eat it

    By on

My 2 rescue cats are not picky and will happily eat everything I serve them (one loves corn on the cob- that's how flexible they are!)... but NOT this food. I put it down in the bowls, they stare at me in disbelief, won't touch it, and continue their incessant feed-us-mewings. Only if I cover it in other food at a ratio 3x other foods to 1x Cats' meow will they eat it. I'm sorry I didn't read the review. I don't know what is in this, but they really really hate it. They love all the other Dave's flavors that they've tried, but not this.

  • The only Dave's that they don't like. Read Below

    By on

This is made and also sold by Evanger's as Chicken Lickin' and even cheaper. The other Dave's stuff, is made elsewhere. I would think Dave might want to get rid of this line. My not so finicky cats will eat this if forced too. But they'll eat half of this stuff at most and really give me the stink eye for the rest of the day. Too bad, they will INHALE the other Dave's Cat Food that I've bought (haven't tried any "fish" ones though).

  • Cats like it okay

    By on

I've only tried this one flavor with my cats and they like it okay but not great. They leave a lot on their plates. Also, the food is very thick and solid, which means you are getting a good deal because you are not paying for a lot of liquid. However, I mix water into it because it is rather dry. I use it as a backup for a raw food diet. Overall it seems like a good, economical choice for a grain-free canned food.

  • Six Cats Didn't Like It

We have six cats of various ages and this flavor is the least liked of Dave's that we've tried so far.

  • very good

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

All my cats liked Dave's canned food, and this is the 1st time we tried The Cat's Meow selection, but we have had other flavors before. The only issue is sometimes the cans are dented and I can't use the pull tab top to open. But it's finely pureed pate, which seems to be the type that my pickier cat will eat. I blend with some water before serving.

  • Affordable, Good Nutritionn

    By on

I offer Dave's canned cat food to my cats, mixed with other canned foods. They won't eat it when served alone, but when mixed with something else, they gobble it up! I like Dave's formulas because they are healthy, nutritious and affordable. My persnickety cats have to have some less healthy food mixed with it to enhance the taste, but it makes me feel like I'm giving them a good healthy meal. The price is great, and with 7 feline mouths to feed wet food to twice daily, the large cans are invaluable!

  • Cats hate it!

    By on

Out of all the Dave's cat-food, this is the one they won't touch. None of the other foods have issues, but this one... Nope. They'd rather starve than eat it. I tried freeze dried chicken treats on top, also. Well, they lick that off and then leave the food underneath untouched. Now what do I do with the rest of the 12-pack I bought? Ouch!

  • Quality, but cats won't touch it.

    By on

When you open up the can there is no harsh smell and looks to be of a higher quality pate and neither of my cats will touch it. They both stick their noses up at it and my cats are not picky eaters. This is first food I've thrown at them they will not eat. With that being said, all the rest of the Pate food from Dave's is great! My cats love all the other flavors and go crazy when opening up the can. I can't recommend this food due to the fact that there must be something specific to the food that turns cats off to it. If you have a picky eater, do not buy this flavor. Any of Dave's other flavors should be sufficient.

  • Not palatable!

    By on

I have 4 cats. They are far from finicky and typically vie for the soft food, never looking up while eating it. Well, that was until I put this food in front of them. Not one would touch it. Literally they all looked up at me as if to say, "is this a joke?" I purchased 2 cases of this food without trying it out first. Chewy's fabulous customer service refunded me for one case. I'm extremely grateful considering feeding 4 cats is not cheap. The food seems to be dry. Smells bad and the texture is odd. All I need to say is that I will never buy this item from Dave's again. My cats have spoken!
