Our Vet recommended this with the hopes that our Bernese Mountain Dog would slow his eating down. It performs great and he no longer devours his food in 10 seconds.

We have a small 13 lb dog that uses this bowl. I purchased a small but have now purchased a med size. This works really well once he gets down into the inside portion of the bowl. Since we fill the small one to the top edges of the ridges, he will still choke occasionally. I believe one size larger will work perfectly from the start of his feeding to the end. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Talitha Great customer service!!
I ordered a medium bowl for my Dalmatians and it was too small for them so I called to see about returning these and getting the larger size. The woman I spoke with was so sweet! I got a full refund for the medium bowls, I don't have to go through the process of sending them back (they just asked that I donate them to my local dog shelter which I think is so sweet:)) Plus free shipping with the larger bowls! Not to mention the quality of bowls surpassed my expectations by far. I saw they were made from plastic and that worried me, I was afraid they would be easily breakable, but I proceeded to order them anyways because my dogs needed them. When they arrived I was so pleased. They are more of a molded plastic, almost clay-like. They're really strong, and pretty too. My only problem was the size but now that's fixed, thanks to the nice lady! So if your dog eats 2.5+ cups of food you should probably get the large size to ensure your dog is getting the full effect of the anti-gulping. If it's too small then the food won't be between the cracks and your dog will still be gulping the food down. Anyways, great product and great customer service! :)

Our youngest cat literally would inhail his food, not even chewing it. Occasionally, he would eat so fast it would come right back up, but our main issue was that he would eat so fast and finish before the other two could even think about starting their food. So, he then of course shoved them out of the way to get their food. He also started putting on a lot of weight. We started having to lock him up for feedings or watch them eat until they finished. Which just wasn't practical. This bowl is amazing and met all of our needs! The other two now finish before he does! He also will walk away and then go back to the bowl a little later. This is more common for cats. It made me think he ate so fast he didn't feel quite satisfied. He still of course tries to go eat the others food lol but the other two now have plenty of time to eat their share before we have to put the bowls up:) highly recommend this bowl!

After adopting a shelter dog, I was worried at the ferocity with which my dog ate, worrying about the possibility of bloat, and of the typical worry of competition. I tried a large rock in her bowl first, and she was too smart, and pulled the rock out, then proceeded to eat her entire meal in 33 seconds. I bought this bowl, and it now takes her over a minute and fifteen seconds to eat each meal. She is no longer as preoccupied by her food at all times, and on top of all that, the bowl is a very solid construction, which has a great base, meaning her nosing it won't knock it over.

Good quality product. Achieved the exact results I was after. Ordered this one for my Mini Doxie-she's still trying to figure out how to "beat" it. Got her to slow down and eat her meals. No more inhaling her food.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Broadfoot Well made but...
I originally ordered a large bowl by mistake. It didn't seem to work to well for my 17 lbs Jack Russel. Then I bought a small which barely wholes her twice a day kibbles, so the first half is gulped as usual until she gets down to the the little tank traps. Am I going to order a medium? I don't know.
