Rated 5 out of 5 by Mich The best litter!
Decided to give the Ultra Scented a try because the name brand litter I had been using just hadn't been clumping as well and as good on odor control since "they changed their formula." This stuff clumps like rocks that don't break apart when scooped! Having 5 cats with 6 boxes scooping the litter isn't so much of a chore anymore because the scooping goes faster as you don't have to worry about clumps breaking and urine smell hitting you in the face. Although it says ultra scented don't let that deter you, I don't smell a thing (waste or fake scent) so it really is great on odor control. It is truly dust free and does reduce tracking! The only thing that could bother some people is that it is a more heavy litter, but I'm younger and can manage. I'd reccomend having some kind of box to store the litter in vs free pouring. Very happy with this stuff and will never go back!

I am not a fan of clay litter because of the dust and the sand like texture. Well this truly is DUST FREE. It does track but you can't see it. This formula states it is ultra scented. There is no scent and the package claims the scent is released when moisture hits it. Well, I still don't smell any scent. But that's okay because it does control litter box odor. It is very difficult to clean. It clumps super hard and if the urine reaches the bottom of the litterbox, you have to scrape it off. So I use two different scoopers. The Duranimal scooper is too thick for scraping, so I use a thinner metal scoop for that. Then I use the Duranimal for the larger waste. For me dust free and odor control are of greatest importance. I've tried all of the natural litters and some were too dusty and tracking. And my cats started protesting. They prefer the clay. So this is the best clay litter I've found so far. I would definitely recommend trying it.

With five indoor-only full-size kitties, I was looking for a litter they would all accept, had little to no dust, had good odor control, and was not overpriced. I think Dr. Elsey's Ultra Scented litter meets the bill. I've tried most of the brands in Wal-Mart, but my kitties ended up dusty and smelling like the scented litter. And worst of all, the room where the litter boxes are kept was just full of dust. So after a thorough room cleaning, I decided to test a few litters that claimed to be dust free or close to it. The walnut litter was not tolerated by one of our cats, who started using the potty behind the couch. The lavender scented corn litter did not control odor as well as Dr Elsey's nor did it clump as well. This litter is also reasonably priced, and I don't have the dust anymore. Praise the Lord! The only downside I have is that this is clay litter and therefore it is heavy. I will need to order the smaller bags for the sake of my fingers and back.

The nice scent and low dust are great! My 8 yr old cat didn't have any trouble transitioning to this fantastic litter.

This litter works especially good when I mix it with an all natural lighter litter.
Makes it easier to scoop out and it lasts
a good long time for multi cat households.

I have three kitties and this, by far, has been the best, no odor, no dust (terrible for respiratory tracts in cats). Clumps well and, the best part, it was delivered right to my front door and I didn't have to haul it from the shelf in no-name pet store, out to my car, out of my car and into my house. PURRRRRRFECT!!

We have been using this litter for a while now and are very pleased. Doesn't break up when you scoop away the clumps. You will need a metal scooper since it really gets hard and sticks to the bottom of the box. It's worth the trouble.
