Having a free-falling fountain instead of a stagnant bowl water is the best way to encourage cats and dogs with a low thirst drive to get the amount of hydration they need to support their kidneys and urinary tracts. The Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain gives them that with an extra bit of style. This high-quality fountain hold over one gallon of water and constantly filters and aerates it. The free-falling stream keeps water fresh, encouraging pets to drink more and stay hydrated. Replaceable carbon filters remove all of the bad odor and taste pets find in tap water. Perfect for multi-pet homes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Drinkwell helps increase pets' water intake! Love this product! This unit replaces the same Drinkwell we've had for years - maybe 5-6 years or more? I originally bought a small unit to increase our cats' water intake for health reasons - they had rejected other styles but not Drinkwell. But I had to quickly move to a larger Drinkwell unit as our one large breed dog loved it so much, I was having to refill it twice daily! The pump on the large unit finally died. I decided to purchase an additional large unit (this one being reviewed) for upstairs and a replacement pump which is working great for the old large unit. People need specific instructions for cleaning the pump - how to, how often etc. That will keep those units running for ages, like our first unit! And thanks Chewy for having this unit in stock and delivered quickly. You might consider carrying Drinkwell components like the pump and replacement filters. I'm also a veterinary technician and reco drinking fountains for clients' pets. December 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best investment yet! Super glad that I bought this product, my cat was having some urinary issues and a friend recommended I buy a pet fountain for him to get him to drink more water and I can't believe how much water he is actually drinking now! I also love that he likes to play with the stream of water. It's super easy to take it apart and clean it too. I would recommend this to anyone!!! January 13, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by My cats love it! I just purchased this water fountain after using another brands fountain for 12 years. That fountain still runs to this day! It has more of a slide that the water runs down. The reason why I purchased this fountain is because I have a diabetic cat that loves to drink from the tub faucet. Every single time I am in the bathroom I need to turn on the tub faucet... This fountain has a stream of running water just like the tub and both of the cats love it! I also have a 19 year old cat with some kidney issues due to age so clean fresh water is important. I cleaned it for the first time this weekend and it is very easy to clean. We love this fountain! Rated 5 out of 5 by My Cat Drinks a LOT more Water Now... My cat had a urinary issue in 2013 that luckily cleared up fairly quickly but then it came back in 2016. The vet bills were astronomical and the problem was not going away. After quite awhile things cleared up but my goal was to find ANYTHING to prevent this from being a constantly recurring problem. I had read that for many cats, problems arise from simply not drinking enough water. So I searched around for a fountain but some I found online were VERY expensive so I went with this one. The price here is VERY fair but perhaps most importantly, my cat drinks a LOT of water now! I see her several times a day going over to this fountain and wetting her whistle! And fingers crossed...there have been NO signs of urinary trouble at all! December 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Helpful Response We purchased the Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain and our dog simply refused to have anything to do with it. We tried coaxing and offering treats but he would not use it. When we explained the problem to Chewy, they couldn't have been nicer! They gave us a refund. They have a customer for life. Thanks Chewy January 4, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very quiet. Easy to set up and use. I was very impressed with how quiet this fountain's pump is. You can hardly hear it run. It is also easy to disassemble and clean. I wish the manufacturer would have included a pre-filter on the plastic gate which protects the pump motor. This would be better at keeping hair and litter from the pump motor housing. Also, they should include in the cleaning instructions to "Lift the reservoir straight up with one hand, and pull the water level plunger down with the other hand while inverting the reservoir canister". This way, no water is spilled from the sides of the reservoir cap. Aside from this, it is an excellent product, which our cats love. December 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Recommend My cat loves this, but I knew ahead of time that she would. She had taken to standing in the bathtub and demanding that I turn the water on so she could drink out of the running stream - at all hours of the day and night, by howling. Loud enough to wake me up. So, this is great for her. It was somewhat tricky to set-up, but with the help of my 16 year old boy, we figured it out. Also, this was dumb of me, but I had planned to put it share her regular water dish was, but couldn't do that because you need an electrical outlet to plug it in to. December 30, 2016
