Rated 3 out of 5 by I like the ingredient list just not sure my cats do I have a 9 year old cat - and 2 2-year old cats... I did not fill my nine-year-old cat's bowl with this food, but I did mix my original food with this new food and put it in the bowls of my two-year-old cats. They did not dig in and while they are slow to accept the new food I do believe they will eventually accept it - they do eat it, but they've noticed it's a change. I bought 2 14-pound bags. Each day they do seem to have accepted it more . I will continue to mix the two foods together and hope that there's not some ingredient in the new food that is inferior or detrimental to their health. Eventually either I or they will win and they will eat this food or not. But for now it's too soon for me to know. The only reason I do not recommend it is because I'm not sure yet but I have not withdrawn the food. September 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by High nutrition and quality at a great price After doing an extensive comparison of dry cat food guaranteed analyses, Earthborn Primitive Feline was in my top 3 picks. I serve it 2-3 days a week to my cats, and rotate with 2 other dry-food choices. The breeder where I adopted my kitten has her household on a raw diet. Her recommendation was that if I had to do a dry food diet, then Earthborn was the best all-round selection. After doing my research, I agreed that it was one of best. Primitive Feline is good for kittens as well as for adult cats. After my kitten reaches a year old, I'll keep Primitive Feline going forward and drop one of the much pricier other ones. My cats love it. September 12, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Kibble is too small and flat. This kibble is small and flat. My cat will eat it if there is a pile but then more is likely to go stale and then he won't touch it. September 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cats love it!!! My cats have never loved other food as much as this one. Both the earthborn dry food and meat. They wolf it down! 5 stars. September 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Batman & Robin Love it This is the food I have been buying my cats from the day they came home. The kibble is small, someone said as small as a pinhead, but it's not THAT small. My cats love this food and I won't buy anything else as far as dry cat food goes. They are black cats and when I got them as kittens their fur was so dull, within two weeks of eating this food they are crazy glossy and gorgeous. We have two dogs that eat the primitive naturals dog food as well. September 12, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Eight cats total won't eat this I have three cats that love the canned Chicken Catcciatori so I purchased the dry food thinking they would probably like it too. None would eat it-they picked their usual kibble out. After none was consumed in over two weeks I gave the bag to my sister. She feeds five feral cats twice a day. She has the same problem-they all reject it. Too bad :( I wasted $32 September 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for more than just cats! I made a HUGE order of Orijen, Wellness CORE Kitten, Blue Buffalo Wilderness Kitten and Earthborn Holistic Primitive because not only do I have a young adult cat, I have 6 ferrets that were previously on a raw diet that I couldn't afford any more. Ferrets and cats alike do best when introduced to more than one food as they can, and often will, imprint on their food as they age. If they imprint, they typically wont take to new foods and can starve themselves until the old food is given back. Having more than one food available prevents this, giving you a back up incase there is a recall or one brand is no longer produced, or a formula is changed for the worse. Not only does my cat enjoy the blend of different foods, but so do my ferrets. Being that they're all high quality kibbles, my crew is adjusting pretty quickly with very little tummy trouble. Plus it makes for less health troubles down the line for my fur babies! My cat is healthy and active with a coat so glossy and soft it always boggles my vet's mind! November 20, 2013
