Transition Instructions

A new pet food should be gradually introduced to your animal by mixing it with their current food. For a nice, slow transition, replace the old food with the new food in small increments over the course of a three week period. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for a pet’s digestive tract to fully adjust to a new diet. If digestive upset occurs, transition more slowly.

  • Best kibble

    By on

I fed a different formula to our fur babies many years ago and it was fantastic. That line was put out of production and for a while I just kind of floated around in undefined kibble space. A few of our mainly kibble eating earthling children developed some medical issues. I then looked back into the EVO brand and decided to give this a ago. We've been feeding this now for about five years and no medical issues at all during that time! one of our senior cats was considered to have IBS. one of our ferrets had urinary tract issues that cost us thousands in vet bills to treat. We have ran into absolutely no medical issues since switching over to this kibble. I know some people knock it but the results I fed a different formula to our fur babies many years ago and it was fantastic. Vet tried to sell us on special diets for our senior cats/ferrets. I have many friends trying these special diets with no positive results. After we moved to a new state The only place we could find that carried this was a brick and mortar store about thirty minutes from home and we made the trip. I am so thankful that Chewy has it now. Our household depends on it. … more

  • Worth Every Penny to Feed a Cat What it Should be Eating

    By on

After buying a grain-free brand from Petco and our cat turning her nose up at it, I knew that I had to get a higher quality, nutritional, holistic food. I firmly believe that animals should be eating close to what their primal ancestors did (lots of protein, good fats, unprocessed). Our cat gobbles this up in addition to her daily raw chicken. Some people may call this spoiling the animal, but why would you not want to feed something that relies on you for sustenance something that you would be ok eating yourself (hopefully I'll never have to ACTUALLY eat this, but you never know when you might have a Frank and Charlie moment). Great product!

  • They love this but it’s being discontinued!!!

    By on

This item is NOT “temporarily” out of stock, much to my dismay. After having a hard time hunting it down from other sources, I emailed EVO directly and they wrote back that they are discontinuing the entire brand-so all foods they make! I bought up a bunch of overpriced remaining bags and am not sure what I will switch to when they’re gone. It took much experimenting and wasting lots of $ trying to finally find a food they like and they’ve been eating this for about 4.5 years now. And they only liked this flavor, at that. The whole prospect of finding something new is stressing me out as these guys are very finicky about anything they eat.

I am very happy with chewey! he delivery is quick, the selections are great & best of all, I have found smaller size bags that if I'm trying a new brand out on my cat & he doesn' like it, I can donate it to my local shelter without wasting a lot of money. For years I wished pet food companies would make a trail size bag of food so that ifyour pet didn't like it, you weren't out that much money. While he 2.2 lb bags aren't trial they're better than a larger size. Thank you Chewey!

  • My cat thinks it's treats

    By on

Bought this for my mother-in-law's cat who was on a low quality food. The cat liked this food. My own cat, who is on a raw diet, likes the Evo for treats. The kibbles are very small which is good for quick eating and calorie control when used as treats. This kibble is one of the lowest-carb brands I could find and price is good compared to other high-protein premium brands

  • EVO, Indeed!

Finding a perfect food for our three cats was tough. My husband and I are like most cat parents who are willing to do everything that keeps cats healthy and happy no matter how much money it would cost us. Looking back, we have tried different flavors and various brands that suit our three cats' taste pallet. We have one very picky cat so we have explored numerous dry food so far. I personally wanted to go with Orijen cat food, but the picky one didn't like it. All three cats loved Taste of the Wild, but the recalls that company went through in the past and some of the strongly negative comments on the brand outside of Chewy website made me slightly skeptical about the product. All three cats loved Taste of the Wild, but the recalls that company went through in the past and some of the strongly negative comments on the brand outside of Chewy website made me slightly skeptical about the product. We have tried Wellness Core, but none of our cats was fan of it at all. Specifically, the small and round kibble size was not ideal for our cats. We have tried Instinct but it has a quite strong fish smell in Chicken flavor that our cats don't care for. Blue Buffalo made our Bengal cat sick in his stomach for some reason when he was a kitten. After all the trial and error, we have found EVO which all of our cats can enjoy with no issue so far. We first bought a smallest size to give it a try and then we bought the biggest one (15.4 lb). The cats are still enjoying it very much except that the big bag is too powdery. I also found some of other reviews on the big size of EVO bag that it is very powdery. Due to a bunch of powder and broken kibbles at the bottom of the bag, we are going to try a middle size of bag to see if it is in the same condition. Now, I don't have to spend much time looking for dry food and go through all the trial process any more! … more

  • Amazing Food

    By on

I Absolutely love this food. It's a 'healthy' kibble my cats seem to enjoy. They primarily eat canned food, but I offer this as an occasional meal. Both my cats get upset tummies easily, and transitioning to this food didn't cause them any upset. Though, I would give 5 stars but my cats seem to grow bored of this food rather quickly.

  • Best Cat Food on the Market

    By on

My cat is 11 years old. I started feeding him Evo 10 years ago after he had to have emergency surgery to remove a bladder stone. I did some research and found some information that recommended switching to a grain-free food. This was a somewhat new trend 10 years ago and Evo was one of the only pet food brands making grain-free, so I went with them. I can honestly say my cat is the healthiest 11 year-old cat you'll ever meet. He's never had any health issues since his bladder stone. He's a perfect weight. His coat is silky, and I'm confident as long as I feed him Evo and keep him safe he'll have no trouble seeing 20.

  • Bad Cat Food

    By on Top 500 Contributor

My cats will not eat this even my cats who typically eat everything. Food is way overpriced especially if your cats dont eat it. Buy Ziwi primal or Stella and Chewy if you want a good cat food that is similar to wild. Its expensive but litter box doesnt smell. Well worth it to cat lovers out there who hate litter boxes but love their feline friends.

  • My kittens love this food!

    By on

My 6 month old kittens love this food. I previously got them the Salmon and Herring variety but it made their poop stink too much. They took to this flavor just as much and I feel like after doing research it is a high quality food and worth the price.
