Rated 4 out of 5 by Emmie Pink bag, great, blue bag terrible
OK, I purchased this for my cat who has diabetes after realizing the Meow Mix Indoor Formula I fed her for ten years wasn't even real chicken or meat, and that she developed diabetes from it.
I tried different foods, she lost weight and required a $200 insulin medicine. I changed her diet to the pink bag of Feline Caviar and she got better over time. She ate that and regular tuna and low sodium canned chicken breast, anything that helped us avoid carbs like peas, potatoes, rice, grains, etc in cat foods.
I noticed this pink bag uses alfafa as a filler, but there are very few carbs in alfafa, so it does not impact her diabetes which has helped her get better over time.
I would not recommend the bluish/purple bag. My cats wouldn't go near it, it smells horrible and has a terrible taste. They do eat the pink bag, however.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jeni Not a very good food
I have 3 cats that will eat just about anything. They hardly touched it. I ordered based on a review from someone that had a Siamese with digestive issues in the hopes that this would help my Siamese with his once monthly puking. Food smelled terrible and I couldn't read the expiration date except for the year, which happened to be 2016. Ended up throwing the food away. Bummed I wasted all that money

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dina7 Feline Caviar Limited Ingredient GrainFree Dry Cat Food
The smell of the alphalfa was so overpowering that none of my cats would eat it and I couldn't stand the smell. When I called Canine Caviar to complain they told me the food had already been reformulated with less alphalfa and offered to send me a small bag of the new formula which I declined. I suggested they substitute peas or another green veggie instead, which of course won't happen until they get more negative feedback on the new one. Now I will see if the strays will even eat it. I have my doubts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Spiritcreek This food healed my cat
My Calico is 19 years old. She started having issues with severe constipation, she stopped grooming herself so her hair became a big mess and she was clearly in pain and I feared it was the end. I put her on Orijen Fish Formula and she did seem to enjoy the kibble but she was still not looking good. I supplement her kibble with raw chicken, chicken fat and wild caught canned salmon. Still no change til in desperation I tried the Feline Caviar Chicken & Salmon kibble. The smell is atrocious but she started eating it and soon she was back to my kitty cat, shiny coat, clear eyes, self grooming and happy. I credit this kibble with saving her life.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ceci Seems like a great food but my kids just won't touch it!
I love the ingredient list on this, it's pea-free which is hard to find! But my male and female wouldn't touch it. Even mixed with wet food or their old food, they just pick it out or flat out don't eat. Huge bummer! But they're old and picky, it still seems like a great food.

I'm slowly transitioning a cat I inherited from my brother from junky science diet to CC. It's a slow process but he is eating it. I will continue to mix the foods till I get him on 100% CC. With the way this food is cooked it's the best dry kibble and ingredients one can find. This food was recommended by holistic I follow and it just can't be beat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by joscat Good food
I got this for a visiting neighbor cat that left his home over a year ago because he no longer got along with his littermate. He visits quite often in the Winter and not as often when it's nice out. I figured that a good food might help him through our cold winter months more then a cheap super market food. Everything sounds good with the ingredients etc. and it was reasonably priced. But he won't eat it so I won't be giving it more then 3 stars.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jenn1409 Ingredient change, cats no longer interested
My two cats used to LOVE this food (and I loved that it was the only food that seemed to keep my mediumhair's hairballs under control!) but it underwent a change in formula recently and now my cats refuse to eat it. I couldn't even mix it in with their old food to help them get used to it since I didn't realize anything was different until I opened the new bag and it smelled a little funny. They're not usually picky eaters, either! Just a warning for anyone whose cats are used to the old variety. Luckily, Chewy immediately refunded the cost of the food when I contacted them about the issue.
