Description

Shedding is a problem most cats face and tends to be heaviest in early Spring and early Fall, but indoor cats often shed year-round. Up to 2/3 of the hair a cat sheds is ingested during self grooming, resulting in hairballs that are messy, stressful to the cat and the cause of potentially serious problems. Every loose hair brushed is one less to swallow.

Key Benefits

  • Designed for use with coats shorter than 2 inches, reduces shedding up to 90%
  • Stainless steel deShedding edge reaches deep beneath your cat’s short topcoat to gently remove undercoat and loose hair, FURejector button cleans and removes loose hair from the tool with ease
  • Effectively reduces hairballs, keeping your cat healthier and happier, guaranteed to reduce shedding better than any brush, rake or comb
  • Recommended by veterinarians to help prevent dangerous hairballs from developing
  • Patented technologies, designed by a groomer for professional results

My cat started to shed like crazy a few months ago and I was brushing her constantly every day. Then a friend of mine recommended me this product. I ordered it and it arrived in 2 days. I brushed my cat first and then used this. Oh. My. God! After using it I had a tennis ball size of yarn, literally! I used it for 3 more days and I still got too much hair. So, I decided to stop for a while and she wasn't shedding everywhere like before. I will probably use furminator once a week for a shorter time. My cat is not patient for me to finish my thing. I highly recommend this item.

  • FURminator hair brush for cats is highly overrated

    By on

The FURminator brush is not that good it's clumsy top-heavy and hard to use I'm not quite sure how to use it and my cat absolutely does not like it it seems to pull and rip the hair out in clumps here and there and I think it's so sharp that it scratches her skin it doesn't massage it gently she much prefers her Chi turbo hair brush. Last night when I got her brush out she actually is afraid of it and ran away from it that is not the Hallmark of a good pet product so please contact me to arrange for a return or exchange for a much much better higher-quality brush in that product line not the Furminator it should be called the fur Ripper. I'm saying this because I really don't know how to use The FURminator brush is not that good it's clumsy top-heavy and hard to use I'm not quite sure how to use it and my cat absolutely does not like it it seems to pull and rip the hair out in clumps here and there and I think it's so sharp that it scratches her skin it doesn't massage it gently she much prefers her Chi turbo hair brush. I'm saying this because I really don't know how to use it and so far she does not like it she's scared of it and then she gets mad at me and runs away. That's not good because my cat loves to be brushed she is obsessed with brushing she likes it two or three times a day to tell you the truth and she is afraid of this brush so it isn't any good I'm sorry I bought it it's supposed to be great and I'm disappointed because she doesn't like it I want you to send me something better than that that massages her skin and doesn't scratch it with their shirt pics on this brush … more

This is a great investment! Have you ever held your cat or dog's undercoat in your hand..It get's HOT! So I can only imagine just how good this feel's brushing that wintercoat out in the spring. I also like to use the Small FURminator on my BIG Labrador's face and legs.

  • Boerne loves it!

Every morning my cat and I have a ritual, he comes right up to be brushed with this FURminator. He enjoys it and so do I. Within minutes, lots of hair is sitting in a pile in the trash can instead of all over my house! Although expensive, they are well worth it, and I even bought one for a friend.

  • The Only Comb That Works

    By on

A friend of mine recommended this comb for my cat, which, although she has short hair has two different layers of fur - super smooth - and last year we had cat hair Everywhere half the year. I have been combing her with it and it really takes the underlying hair out!!! Highly recommend it - even though it's more expensive.

  • If It Hurts-You're Doing it Wrong!

    By on

I've read so many reviews that say this is a bad product because it won't glide through their pets fur and it actually hurts them, I had to speak up. This is NOT like a typical comb or brush. You gently glide it over your pets fur. DO NOT dig down to their skin!!! The teeth will pick up loose fur and it's amazing. And it works.

  • Genius product

    By on

This is not an ordinary brush; it helps to groom my short hair cats in a really effective way! I can totally see that using it for 5 seconds and 3 strokes got rid of so much loose hair. I have been talking my friends' ears off about how impressive this is. My cats liked it but they were already into being brushed.

  • EXCELLENT PRODUCT

    By on

I became a 1st time indoor longhaired cat owner in June 2016 and after a few months I started to question my decision due to the huge amount of shedding and cleaning up hairball vomit. I seriously couldn't keep up with it. After much frustration, I purchased a LG FURminator. I was a little sceptical of their claim that it cuts down on 90% of shedding so I was concerned about the cost, but it's true and it's been worth every penny!!! If you don't have one, GET ONE!

  • Best Comb Ever

    By on

I was very hesitant to pay this much for a cat comb but this particular design is great. I could make a blanket with how much it removes from my short haired cat! I previously purchased a comb that looks very similar but it obviously does not have the same design technology because it removed little more than an ordinary comb. The furminator is the best! So is Chewy.com - great service and products.

  • Best at removing hair

    By on

Bought this brush for full price at a chain store before I discovered Chewy. I was very hesitant to pay so much for a cat brush but wow does thing work. Originally had a rubber bristle brush that did nothing. My cats don't have super long hair, but they really like to keep themselves clean so they suffer from hairballs. I am amazed at all the hair that comes off after a few minutes of brushing. This brush seems to really get at the undercoat. I was afraid the metal brush might hurt them but they purr and seem to like being brushed.
