The amount of food your cat needs will vary depending on breed, activity level, age and climate. Use our feeding chart as a guide, adjusting the quantity fed to achieve your cat’s ideal weight. We suggest feeding twice a day, kittens more often. Provide fresh, clean water at all times. Love, attention, playtime and chin scratches should be given freely, as often as possible. Pregnant/lactating females: increase intake by 50%.

Transition Instructions

It’s important to slowly transition your pet to a new food so their system has a chance to adapt to the change. The transition period should be at minimum, 10 days and could take upwards of 2 weeks, depending on your pet’s sensitivity to change. On day one, introduce 10% new food / 90% old food. Keep the food at this ratio for 2 or more days. Next, increase the ratio to 20% new food / 80% old food for 2 or more days. Repeat increasing in increments of 10% until you’re feeding 100% of the new food. If your pet experiences any kind of digestive upset during this time, try slowing down the process to let his/her digestive tract adjust to the new food. Some vomiting and/or diarrhea can be normal when introducing new foods as the digestive process and the naturally occurring bacteria your pet’s body requires is a complex and delicate system. If you experience any vomiting and/or diarrhea, be sure to reduce the amount of new food the next time you feed and overall, slow the whole transition period down even more.

I followed the feeding guidelines on your packaging, but my pet is too fat/thin. Why?

Feeding Guidelines are simply a place to start. You should increase or decrease the amount you feed based on your pet’s activity level and weight.

Are the ingredients used in Petcurean products “human-grade”?

All of our fresh meat and meat meal ingredients are sourced from animals passed fit for human consumption by the CFIA. The fruits and vegetables used in our recipes also come from the human food chain. We do not, however, claim that our ingredients are “human-grade”; once an individual ingredient leaves a “human-grade” processing facility and enters a “pet food” processor, the ingredient loses its “human-grade” classification.

What is an organic ingredient?

A certified organic ingredient provides a guarantee that the ingredient has met strict government standards for how food is grown, handled and processed; using organic agricultural methods. Organic agriculture focuses on farming practices that encourage soil and water conservation and regeneration, and reduces pollution. Organic farmers use natural fertilizers and pest control methods to benefit the soil, plants and animals for a healthy environment.

Where are your products made?

Petcurean dry pet foods are produced in Ontario, Canada. Our canned products are primarily produced in Ontario, Canada and secondarily at a plant in New Jersey, USA. Our SPIKE Jerky Treats are manufactured in Gainsville, Georgia and our SPIKE Treat Bars are made in Brampton, Ontario. We are 100% China free for processing and ingredient sourcing. With 3 foster kittens I needed to find a good quality food to mix with the orijen kitten food to help bring down the cost a bit. My kittens were a little hesitate at first but after a few days they loved it!!

  • Disappointed

I was super excited for this food as the ingredients seem to be really good, however, the kibble is extremely small and my cats barely eat it. Unfortunately, I will have to find a different food.

  • She totally digs it!

My kitty did not like the turkey and duck recipe, but she really LOVES this one! I should have guessed that because she has always been a big fan of fish. I began feeding her a combination of wet and dry food for the past 6 months and she typically eats all of her wet food first and reluctantly eats her dry food. With this new recipe, I drop the kibbles into her bowl and she comes running :)

  • Yum Yum!

I adopted two male cats in November. My fussy boys didn't take to this food immediately as they'd been eating, gulp, Friskies! After their strike which, lasted about a week. they started gobbling down the sensitive stomach GO, especially Gordo, who tends to be a vacuum cleaner. He's what they call a tree climber (longer back legs). Big Fella! This food is a keeper and will go onto bi-monthly mailing.

  • The cats love it!

Our cat and our fosters have loved this food. We haven't had a single problem. It has a fishy smell which is a definite plus for the cats, they love the "fresh" fish smell when we put another scoop in their bowl:)

  • not a winner

6 cats and none of them will eat it. Even mixing it with another dry food that they love, it gets picked around and for the most part goes uneaten. Hopefully the cats and kittens I foster will eat some since this food is not cheap.

Loved this brand before this new line and our cats really enjoy the Go line. All of my cats eat this food. Great quality and value. No tummy issues either.

  • Good Alternative

    By on

My cat will not touch poultry flavored food - the vet recommended Hill Science i/d and he wouldn't eat it. This is a good alternative that he will eat. The only bad thing is that it is very fishy smelling.
