Rated 5 out of 5 by Jess Effective against hairballs and seems healthy
Within a month I have already noticed a reduction in hairballs! My cats seem to enjoy it and I feel that I am giving them something healthy. I also think it is improving their fur. Just curious why the hairball formula is only for young cats (under 6 years).

I have one cat Chloe she has trouble with hair balls this cat food seems to work great. Now if I could only get her not to eat so fast and chew her food better. The other day Peanut has no problem with hair balls.

by britishatheart84 Excellent Food for Hairball Prone Cats
I have a (very) longhair rescue Balinese mix who suffers from excessive hairballs. While it doesn't eliminate the problem, this food helps tremendously with hairball reduction. I would definitely recommend this food for cats prone to hairball issues. The product seems well produced, and the ingredients are satisfactory (no corn, or wheat products.) The kibbles are a little on the large side, and take some crunching. My cat's coat is shiny, she has clear eyes, and no health issues. I attribute my cat's health in part to this product. This is by far the best hairball diet I've found so far, and will definitely keep feeding it. I also have a short hair cat who likes to sneak and eat this food too (so it must taste good!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Matti My cat does not throw up anymore!
I have a 13 year old male cat who had started to throw up quite regularly and often times it was his food he was throwing up. At the vet's recommendation, I tried switching to a different food, including grain free and sensitive stomach, both staying within the Ideal Balance family and trying other brands. He had been on the Hills Ideal Balance chicken and brown rice. No matter what I tried, he would throw it up within and hour of eating, until I tired the Ideal Balance Hairball. He rarely throws up now, and if he does, it's because he has eaten grass. I do want to mention that if you switch your cat to this formula, the required feeding amount is about double the regular chicken and brown rice formula so be sure to check the recommended feeding amounts.
