Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Kidney Care with Chicken Dry Cat Food is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 238.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works My 16 year old cat has been on this food for 1.5 years now with no further deterioration to her kidneys even with adding none prescription canned to her diet (she won't eat prescription canned). Possible side benefit: she had 3 tumors removed within 28 months and there have been no more since diet chabge. Have no way of knowing if diet has made a difference but it was the only change made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great food. Prescription? All the cats in the house eat it! My cat, Sam, likes this food also. And he does seem to be feeling much better. I'm not sure what a few people are talking about needed a "prescription." My vet recommended this food to me, but I have purchased it in more than one place and have never been asked for a "prescription." That doesn't make a lot of sense, since any other cats in the household eat the food too - hard to prevent it. It's not a "controlled substance" - it's food! It is apparently really good food for the kidneys. Not only does my cat obviously feel better, but has not thrown up since being on it (he used to throw up frequently). My first preference for ordering anything they carry, is always Chewy. Best customer service I've every received - and the nicest people. Thanks, Chewy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When kidneys are failing... This was prescribed by our vet for our old cat who is now having kidney issues. The food agrees with her and she does not vomit. I am so thankful that such a product is available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed my cat's life My cat Jasmine was diagnosed with kidney disease in August after she had a few accidents outside of the litter box. My vet prescribed this food and it has literally changed her life. She looks and acts like a different cat. I can tell that she feels so much better too! She comes running as soon as I put the food in her bowl. My other cats try to eat it too. It's an expensive food, but it really makes a difference in her quality of life and it's totally worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cat loves new kidney food I had heard that kidney food is not as flavorful and I was worried that my older cat would not like it and not eat it. He is losing weight and needs to eat. He IS eating the food very hungrily. Yay!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My two cats like it. One of my cats has kidney disease and I've been feeding this to him for a few years. His kidney disease has not gotten worse. My other cat likes it too, and it's OK for her to eat it.
