The liver is your cat's largest internal organ with many functions, including the digestion and conversion of nutrients, the removal of toxic substances from the blood and the storage of vitamins and minerals. The liver has an amazing ability to repair and regenerate itself, and nutrition plays a vital role in this process. At Hill's, nutritionists and veterinarians have developed clinical nutrition especially formulated to help support your cat's liver function during its healing process.

Key Benefits

  • High quality and highly digestible protein in moderate quantities to help reduce liver workload and helps maintain liver function
  • Added L-Carnitine to help maintain normal fat metabolism in the liver
  • Reduced in sodium to help maintain normal blood pressure
  • Added antioxidant nutrients like vitamin E and C to control cell oxidation and promote a healthy immune system
  • Made in the USA

Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Product Like most cats, mine is finicky, but she seems to like this product. That is a big plus. August 3, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Picky eater Our cat, Eli, loves crunchy foods but will not eat items that smell super strong. He is not big on change especially with snacks or food. Although this dry food is smaller in size to his initial prescription dry food, he loved the taste and smell. Eli is not one to overly beg for food but will for this particular flavor and brand. Rated 5 out of 5 by My finicky cat will eat thisI I have a cat with liver issues that absolutely refused to eat moist prescription liver food. I did a google search for dry liver foods and found this site. My cat took to this food right away and eats it quite willingly. She is more perky now, and her appetite is back. When I saw that they had a 100% guarantee, I felt I had nothing to lose. Overall my cat is more vibrant now, has her appetite back, and I would recommend this food to anyone whose cat is diagnosed with liver problems. June 30, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by None The virdict is still out depending on cats blood test June 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cats like it Both of our cats liked the food and our one cat eats it regularly each day. April 16, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Hills Prescription L/D for cats My cat will not eat this. I tried to feed it to other, outside cats and they will not eat it either. It is still sitting in a bowl outside. I bought both versions of of the Hills prescription diet L/D for cats, so the dry version and wet and all the cats turn their heads up at both products. It was a huge waste of money. Rated 5 out of 5 by Healthy again There are certain subtleties in a cat's behaviour that are somewhat hard to pick up on (for a human, at least). Three weeks ago we took our cats to the vet. They are 12 years old now, both of them saved strays, and the vet suggested they needed some blood work done. It turned out that one of the kitties was sick. Some numbers in the blood work were too high, others - too low. It was her liver. So he recommended Hill's. We bought it right away and, let me tell you, they love it. All the other reviews are spot on. Their coats are as soft as silk now and the sick kittie is her old self again, destroying furniture and clothes. We had forgotten how energized and active she can be. You can tell she is glad to be well again. July 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Miracle For Miracle! My Siamese was very sick and nothing we did was helping. Through extensive research, our Vet suggested we go outside the box and try treating our Miracle (yes, that is really her name but that is another story) for liver problems rather than what seemed obvious, her terrible intestinal issues. Our wise Vet put her on medication to treat the liver imbalance and changed her to Hill's I/D. In less than two weeks, we had a miracle! The intestinal issues disappeared and we now have a very calm, contented and issue-free cat.. Hill's Prescription Diet may be a bit pricey but it works and you do NOT mess with success!
