My cat was diagnosed with diabetes. For a long time he was eating Purina DM and for some reason, he refused to eat it. One of his doctors said he could eat Hills m/d or w/d or the diabetic version of Royal Canin. He didn't like w/d. But he likes m/d. We keep it in it's original bag and inside a pet food storage bin with a seal. We had bought a 4 lb. bag and by the time it was half full, it started smelling funny. He'd eat it in the morning but refused to eat it in the evening. Fortunately for me, Chewy & Hills, have a 100% guarantee on their food. When I began using a new bag, my cat was vigorously eating his food at the prescribed time, both in the morning and the evening. If your animal is diagnosed with this disease, eating the right food isn't enough, but a diabetic diet does help your animal live a longer healthier life.

We have a diabetic cat who is 14 years old and this product helps to keep his blood sugar under control along with his insulin. The best part is that it has made a huge difference in his sister's health as well! Would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Modey Saved us from doing insulin shots
In November my cat's glucose levels were at a 303. After follow up blood and urine tests in January they dropped to 142 after only eating the prescription food. We mainly gave him the rx wet food, but did dry on occasion and for ease. We go back in at the end of this month for another follow up but this food worked wonders and saved us from having to start daily insulin shots. It's pricey, but much less than insulin would have been! So happy my vet recommended this food!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sparklesmom Food ust as I expected - but Customer Svc OUTSTANDING
My cat has been ill for some time and is losing weight my vet decided to let her eat what ever she will for as long as she has. She is almost 2o yrs old. She is eating some of the m/d food which is good.
I really want to comment on the outstanding customer service I received from the Chewy.com folks. Emails and tracking were beyond any I have received from other pet supply website. For as long as she lives I will be buying my supplies from Chewy.com. Thanks guys, I appreciate it more than you know.

My vet put my cat on this food because his digestive system is sensitive. Throwing up without hairballs and burping all the time. Yes. Burping. I have never known a cat to burp. He is not diebetic nor overweight, but my vet felt that the ingredients was better for him than over the counter. It is definitely more expensive which is hard on my retirement income. His vomiting has significantly decreased. We'll see where we are with this a month from now. This should give the other food to clear his system and allow this to work full-time. I do wish they would make the kibbles bigger. My cat loves to chew and this is much smaller than his other Science Diet catfood. Chewing helps clean his teeth. He's swallowing and chewing this kind. Again, please make this bigger or odd sized to encourage chewing the food. Thank you!
