Cat has always been chubby with a large frame ... A "big boy" as they say. Treating his arthritis helped his mobility and energy level and vet combined with R/D wet and dry food in amounts controlled for his size. Cat loves both (even the dry!!!) and in 3 months went from 18.9 to 15.4 pounds (perfect for his large frame). He looks and feels great!

Just started it, so waiting on weight outcome. My cat likes it fine, both the dry and canned versions. Biggest caveat is to be absolutely sure--double check--what the vet prescribes as the proper amount.

I have 2 chubby male cats that are way to interested in food. I think they're really dog's in cat disguise. A few years ago when I took them to the vet for a check up, the vet recommended R/D, wet & dry food. They both like it & have been eating it ever since. I'm so happy I discovered Chewy, so I can save some money & continue feeding them this good quality food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shar Perfect for my overweight cat
I bought the food on the recommendation of my vet. My cat actually loves the food, thank heavens.
It fills him up for less feedings, and so far we have lost a couple of ounces!

Rated 5 out of 5 by darla50 r/d wet and dry prescription food
My cat was 25+ lbs. Due to his weight issue he was very difficult to treat when he became ill. Vet put him on r/d wet and dry prescription food and within 6 mos has already dropped 11 lbs. I know he feels so much better and I can now pick him up with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Krys My cat loves it
I adopted my cat some 6 months ago, weighing 12-lbs, age 4-6 years. She already had some arthritis and she quickly reached 13.8 lbs on the commercial food I gave her. So her vet prescribed this diet food. She now gets about 1/3c wet food and about that much in dry food, same brand daily. The goal is to gradually get her down to less than 12-lbs. At present she weighs 13.4 and is not a bit hungry on the regime. She is more playful and active and loves her new food.
