Rated 5 out of 5 by medusausa All six of my cats love this food, although only one needs it!
My veterinarian prescribed this food for my newest kitty, who, unfortunately, has a condition which causes her system to reabsorb her teeth, as I understand it. She's so young; only 1+ year! No problem eating these big morsels, and she loves it. I allow my other cats to indulge, because it can help remove their placque build-up, too. Haven't been using it long enough to tell how well it's working, but I do know they are all eating it. And it smells wonderful, even to me!

Chewy thanks for making this order so easy and thanks for contacting my vet to get the order processed. You took all the work out of it for me. Order arrived quickly and the price was better than my vet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CindyLouWhoID Helps cats' teeth, some drawbacks
This was originally recommended for my cat by my vet. When I adopted her, she had horrible teeth with plaque build-ups. We started feeding her this food and it helped "scrape off" some of the build-up and minimized new build-up. Eventually, we did the full dental cleaning of her teeth and the Science Diet T/D has helped maintain. Our other cat eats it (he liked it over his kitten food).
Pros: seems to work for intended use of dental health, seems to be good for nutrition; seems to be tasty based on cats choosing T/D over other foods in nearby bowls.
Cons: Large chunks break into little ones - but the cats don't eat the crumbs, leaving waste in the bowls. Expensive. Ingredient list is not ideal. As another reviewer noted, it's basically chicken "parts" and some things like corn meal (don't have the list in front of me).
It doesn't sound like a healthy cat diet, but hey- my vet recommended it, and my cats have been healthy for 3+ years eating this stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nahkhii Great Recommendation By Vet
Our oldest boy had beginning tartar buildup issues w/initial stage gingivitis so our vet recommended this food. Due to his FLUTD issues (and the price - yikes!) we've been giving him and his six brothers and sisters (all rescues) a few kibbles each day as treats. Our vet approved using them as a treat since there is little chance of a few each day creating any issues with his UT problems. She also agreed that using them as a treat for the other cats would be a good idea as they could slow or even prevent any potential future tooth issues. And using as treats also ensures we make a bag last a lot longer.
