Weight problems can be successfully managed through changes in your cat's food. Hill's nutritionists & veterinarians developed Prescription Diet w/d clinical nutrition especially formulated to support your cat's weight management. In fact, w/d is clinically tested nutrition for conditions that respond to fiber.

Hill's Prescription Diet w/d Digestive/Weight Management with Chicken Canned Cat Food is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 86.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from did the trick We had two chubby cats and each had a digestive problem at opposite ends. Our vet recommended the Hill's Prescription Diet for digestive and weight management. It is a little pricey, but worth it not having one cat throwing up and the other with loose bowels and constant remains on his bottom. I read reviews of the product and one complained that his cat's coat didn't look any better, tho I hadn't realized it was an advertised benefit. After our cats were on it for a few weeks, we did notice their fur was shinier and well, nicer. Since they are also on it for the weight management, they do want their food at meal time and miss the access to a food bowl all day. We are happy with the results and the kitties gobble both the wet and dry w/d.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Question concerning the prescription need I have just found out that there is a class action suit against this company for the prescription diets. I have some concerns about the quality of this food. I am trying other high quality foods to see if I see a difference in my cats health. While my cat is doing ok on this diet-- i would like to see him do better. Also, this stuff is very expensive for my cat NOT to have a radiant coat-- As I said the quality of this food is ok-- nothing to rave about and certainly not worth the extra expense of a prescription diet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for cat with digestive problems We have a cat with ongoing GI problems and this food has helped tremendously. The only issue is that our cats are very fussy -they love a food one day and then the next day walk away from it. This is more a commentary on our spoiled animals than it is on the product. Give it a try if you have cat with GI problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our cat cleans up her bowl at every meal. It agrees with our cat who has a mega colon. I'm trying to avoid colon surgery for her.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from helped with my cat's antibiotics-induced digestive issues i'm not crazy about the high price but was willing to try anything after post-surgical antibiotics destroyed my cat's gut -- for many weeks after, no matter what other meds we tried or expensive probiotics i mixed with his food, my poor guy still had loose stools and a diminished appetite. but within one day (!) of mixing the w/d with his regular food (taste of the wild), the appearance of his stools dramatically improved. (i've been mixing the dry w/d with dry totw in the morning and the wet w/d with wet totw at night.) he's now been eating a mix of w/d and totw for a few days and honestly seems to be doing great. my hope is that the w/d is giving his gut an opportunity to heal and we'll eventually be able to wean him off it and return to a pure totw diet, but in the meantime i have to give this stuff full credit for helping him feel (and poop!) better. so relieved. (the only issue we've had is that my cat simply can't/won't eat the full volume of food recommended for weight maintenance because it's a larger amount compared to other brands, so i'm keeping an eye on things and hoping he doesn't lose any weight as a result.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent- My cat loves it! We have been looking for a great food to help my cat w/ his diabetes but that we could also afford. His insulin costs almost $200/ bottle, plus his dry food, extra litter due to his excess peeing, needles for his insulin, & the vitamins we have to give him, it is hard on our budget each month. After shopping around some, we finally were able to find this food for WAY WAY less then the other places that sell it...plus there is NO veterinarian-run pet stores close enough either....And the best part is that I didn't have to go back & forth btwn the website & the Vet, as this food requires a prescription- they did all that FOR ME! The cost was very feasible for the food, Tigger Loves it & I finally feel much better about the food I'm giving him due to his health problems! I only wish now I could have purchases pet health insurance PRIOR to his being diagnosed w/ diabetes! Thank you for making this affordable!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They won't eat it i have 5 cats, 1 kidney failure that will NOT eat the K/D canned food, so the vet said let her have the W/D if she will eat it. She will not. She has been eating the canned dog food! But at least she's eating something...even if it's the wrong thing. She eats the W/D dry though. Another cat, age 8, has Pancreatitis with abcesses. She will not eat this either. She will eat the dry W/D though. Two other cats, ages unknown but adults, are overweight. They will eat the dry, but will have nothing to do with this canned chicken. Even the dog will not eat it, and she usually loves to steal any cat food that she can get ahold of.
