Cautions

Consult your veterinarian before use with young puppies/kittens, convalescent pets, during surgery/surgery recovery, or any animal that cannot voluntarily remove themselves from the heated pad. K&H recommends using only the Deluxe Lectro-Kennel Heated Pad for these animals as this pad has an adjustable thermostat. Do not place pad in confined area where the pet does not have the ability to remove themselves from the pad. Always allow your pet enough space to be able choose if they want to rest on the pad or off the pad.

Instructions

Washing Instructions: Unplug and remove the internal Pet Bed Warmer. Wash on the gentle cycle with cold water. Line dry or use the no-heat cycle on your dryer.

Testing Your Amazin' Thermo-Kitty Pad: You can test the bed by placing a large pillow on top of it. After about 20 minutes, feel under the pillow. It will feel warm, not hot. DO NOT use an extension cord during this test.

The surface of the bed will be about 15° F above ambient air temperature until the pet lies on the bed. Then it will warm to about 102° F, which is the natural body temperature of dogs and cats.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the heated and unheated models have a zipper for inserting the Pet Bed Warmer?

Only the heated Amazin' Kitty Pad has a zipper cover that allows for insertion of a Pet Bed Warmer. The unheated model is sewn closed on all sides.

How long is the cord?

The cord is 5.5 feet long.

What temperature will this bed reach?

The surface of the bed will be about 15°F above ambient air temperature until the pet lies on the bed. Then it will warm to about 102°F, which is the natural body temperature of dogs and cats.

Are your heated beds and pads pressure sensitive?

Our beds and pads are NOT pressure sensitive. All K&H heated beds and pads feature dual thermostats and are designed to warm to your pet's normal body temperature when he/she lies on the pad. This is a function of the insulation provided by a pet’s body, not the weight of the pet.

K&H beds and pads will emit heat anytime they are plugged in so your pet can sense that heat and be drawn to the bed or pad for warmth and comfort. When your pet is not on the pad, the heat will dissipate into the air and the surface temperature will vary according to the ambient air temperature.

Can I use an extension cord with this product?

MET requires that all manufacturers put the extension cord statement “Do not use with extension cord” on every item that is MET listed by UL 499 standards. This is because they cannot test every extension cord on the market in conjunction with our products for safety. Also, MET suggests that an extension cord is not recommended as a permanent fixture and should only be a temporary solution when using any electrical product.

Temporary use of a UL listed cord is fine, but consult your electrician for the proper cord for your application.

How long can a heated bed or pad be plugged in?

MET Safety Laboratories suggests unplugging the bed if you leave your home on an extended vacation, as they do with any electrical appliance. Otherwise, it is designed for 24/7 operation and you can leave it plugged in all day. This item has been certified by MET labs to adhere to strict electrical safety standards.

Is there an off/on switch?

There is not an off/on switch. The pad is always on when plugged in.

For a garage, would you advise an indoor or outdoor heated product?

For a garage, we recommend an outdoor heated product. They have the features necessary to ensure your pet stays warm in even the coldest of temperatures.

I ordered 2, one for my bed and one for the couch. I'll probably order more in the future since they're only $3.91 each. I also was very drawn to the claim that it captures the hair and dander which is a big deal for me even though I'm used to dealing with it. I like the fact that they're washable (though I haven't done that yet so we'll see how that goes) and that the design is simple. The gray fibers look like felt, which I like the natural look. Gia actually just crawled from me onto the mat as I type this. The only thing is I wish there was also a larger size option. Now that Gia's older (and fatter -- we're working on that), she often likes to stretch out and lay on her side, and I ordered 2, one for my bed and one for the couch. • K & H Kitty Pad

Our Sweet Pea kitty loves to sit on this in cardboard boxes. She feels right at home lying on it. She will probably use it more in the cold winter months, since it does get warm from her own body heat.

My cats love these cushions. I had bought 2 a couple years ago (elsewhere) and could never find them again until now. And I love them because they also attract and hold the cat fur. So their favorite spot on the bed no longer leaves a fur patch behind when their mat sits there. And they are very reasonably priced.

  • She loves it.

We adopted a cat from a rescue. She wasn't one much for sitting with us on the couch because of the dogs and she kept sleeping in the clothes basket with clean clothes. I had to find something she would like to nap on on her cat tree or the bed room. For the price I couldn't beat ordering a two pack. She took to them right away. I often find her snoozing away on it in her very own laundry basket with a pillow under it. The basket helps keep her cool when the dogs get to close, because she knows she's safe. She's not a kneader so it has last us quite awhile. Now to buy another set.

  • Different from depicted image, yet, still useful

I bought this bed to go atop a hutch where my youngest cat loves to perch. It's the ideal size, yet, it is flatter than what is depicted. It was on sale and I wouldn't have purchased it at the regular price. It's still a good purchase as my cat uses it daily and for several hours.

i have used Kitty Pads before, but hadn't been able to find them, so I was very happy to find them again. My cats just love sleeping on these. I even put a few outside in protected areas for my outdoor cats.

They are ugly and I need to cover with a throw. They must feel warm because the cats don't burrow under the bedspread!

  • Good "Bed"

This isn't as thick as the pic makes it appear, but 5 minutes after putting it on the floor, our youngest cat (just over a year old) had kneaded it and fallen dead asleep on top of it. I don't think it's going to last long after watching him knead it, but for $6 who cares?!

  • My older kitty loves this!

    By on

One of my older cats loves this. My 4 year old cat tried to eat it. They tear up easily but they are a really good price and I will get more. Luckily the kitty who eats it Is in a separate area from the older one, so I just don't put one in the room with her. I do recommend supervision when using one for the first time because of this happening. When I am on the sofa and my cat is not on it, I use it to keep my legs warm! Lol
