Description

K&H Self-Warming Crate Pad will capture the pet's body heat and radiate back the warmth to the source. The 4 corners are slit to allow the pad to fit many different edges. The adjustable size makes this pad fit into many different crates. The topside of the crate pad is made from soft, inviting micro-fleece while the bottom has a "stay put" non-slip fabric to keep the pad from bunching up in the crate. Simply throw the whole pad in the wash for easy cleaning and care.

Key Benefits

  • Self warming pad radiates heat back to your pet and has a soft microfleece top for comfort
  • Use it to keep your furry one warm and cozy through the night; this pad is great for the kennel, doghouse, garage, porch or wherever else your cat or dog likes to lie, both outside or inside
  • Non-slip bottom provides stability and keeps mat from slipping around
  • Corner slits are added to ensure a perfect fit in your crate
  • Machine washable for easy cleanup

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your self-warming material composed of?

The self-warming material is actually metalized plastic, similar to that in which you’ll find in space blankets. This metallic property basically allows the pet’s body heat to reflect back to your pet.

Could a self-warming product be used outside?

While our self-warming products are great for the indoors, they are not designed to return enough body heat for the cold outdoor temperatures of winter. Rather, they are designed to elevate the temperature of a pet bed that is already around room temperature.

For outdoor pets, we recommend using the Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Bed, Lectro-Kennel, or Extreme Weather Kitty Pad. These are made for the outdoors and will provide enough heat for an outdoor setting during the cold winter months.

  • Do they make a people sized one?

    By on

SUPER soft and looks great with most decor, so nice to lay around for a nap pad. My cat is weird and seems to have texture issues. He avoids them completely. I think he is just silly...I would totally lounge out on one of these. Incredible price, luxury on a budget!

  • The dogs love it.

    By on

My mistake - I ordered too small a pad, but the dogs like it anyway. Currently, we have it just laying on the couch and all of our dogs will purposely lay on it. Honestly, I don't know why - it isn't especially soft and I don't detect alot of heat from it, but if the kids like it, I like it.

  • very soft...

    By on

Soft and just the right thickness for my kittens to use. The mistake i made was keeping it too close to the litter box lol! they loved it! Used with kittens ages 4 weeks to 8 weeks. Easy to clean and came out feeling the same as when it was first out of the package.

  • Extra warmth for my elderly cat

    By on

I purchased this pad to line the pet bed that my elderly cat sleeps in. She is very thin from kidney disease and also has arthritis. I was looking for something to give her some cozy warmth but not too fluffy or soft as to cause her to sink down into it. The warming pad is very flexible and molded to the round shape of The bed I used it in and does not add too much bulk of its own. So she gets that cozy reflective warmth and still gets good support from the dense foam I used as a base layer to her bed. She seems to really like it and I am glad she is getting a little extra warmth without the use of an electric heating source. It brushes clean of fur very easily and is also machine washable. • Great for seniors or kittens

    By on

I have an elderly cat and I also foster kittens for 2 shelters during kitten season, so it is really important to help them maintain their body temperature. This will certainly help while transporting them.

  • Used for Obedience Class

    By on

A great mat to bring to an obedience class (for ours we needed one) or when traveling to someone else's house and need a bed for the pup to rest on. It doesn't slip all over the place. Not very thick, so we don't use it in the crate. Our Bassett prefers a more plush bed in the crate.

  • Great for outdoor, stray and feral cats!

    By on

I bought the self heating pads to put in DIY shelters for stray and feral cats. They're very soft, and my indoor cats "tested" the pads before I placed them at various cat colonies that I care for, and they seemed to warm up as promised when the cats lay upon them. Nice product, fair price. I will be buying more!!!

  • My cat loves it!

    By on

I have 2 cats and one of them likes to sleep at the foot of the bed. I put this pad there and she has claimed it. This morning the other cat was on it. I plan to use it in our larger carrying crate, as it has some cross-members on the bottom.

  • the cats like them....

    By on

only complaint is that they do kind-of move around on the cushions we have them on. i guess it might depend on the surface they are on. to be clear, these are not really padded enough to use alone on, say, a floor. they still need something soft under them. it would be nice if they made a more cushioned version that had a cover you could take off and wash. something that would be like one unit instead of having this pad on top of another cushion. the one i use on my bed works better and stays in place better than the ones we have on top of cushions placed on the floor. pictured are felix and ray, antiques store cats, on their new pads, with new toys, on christmas eve. :D
