  • Better than the cone

    By on

My dog had a cyst removed from his leg. Within the first 10 hrs he knocked the water bowl over 3 times with his cone. He couldnt eat or drink with the cone and I know he would lick his knee with out protection. The Kong collar is the trick. He could eat, drink and sleep with it on. He didnt fight about putting it on like the cone. And he has a pillow to sleep on everywhere he goes. And he couldnt reach his wound.

  • Convenient, comfortable and better than cone of shame!

    By on

My girl is forever doing something that requires her to wear the cone of shame. She hates it! And literally pouts when I have to put it on and it makes me feel awful. So I logged onto chewy and found this awesome cloud collar by Kong. It is affordable and seems to be doing the job perfectly! It is inflatable, so you have to blow it up when you receive it. But my girl is not particularly destructive and is very respectful that way so for us it has worked perfect. Such a better alternative than the cone of shame and she is MUCH happier with it on. She can still drink and eat, which is great. I would definitely recommend this to others.

  • Worked well with my dog

    By on

My dog is a 20 lb poodle/ Bishon. I went with the medium and glad i did because it fits perfectly. She had surgery on her face. When she scratches it is on the Kong and she cant reach her face. It appears to be very comfortable, and sleeps well with it on. She can eat and drink and play with it on which is good because she has had complacations and is having to wear it fot at least 3 weeks...so i highly recommend this product!

  • Kong Cloud works - sort of ...

    By on

The product was delivered by Chewy in a timely manner and as promised. Our dog has two areas that we are trying to keep him from licking and biting (his right front paw and his left rear leg). We need to do this so we can apply ointments and other medicine and allow these sores to heal. With the Kong Cloud, he is still able to lick at the front foot without too much trouble. The rear leg is harder for him to reach, so I think the Cloud is effective for that area of his body. The dog is a male Basset Hound.

  • great for cats - with caveats

    By on

We recently had both a male and female cat neutered and spayed, respectively. We were looking for alternatives to the dreaded "cone of shame," so we ordered a few different options from Chewy to try out, since everything on here is so reasonably priced and with fast delivery. So, we got the x-small for our 5 month old female kitten and the small for our 7 month old male, using the neck circumference chart. I have included some pictures to explain what I'm talking about. The design requires you to slip the cat's normal collar through the loops, so having a properly fitting collar is important. Still, though, our boy was able to slip the collar off on his own after a few attempts. He was We recently had both a male and female cat neutered and spayed, respectively. The design requires you to slip the cat's normal collar through the loops, so having a properly fitting collar is important. Still, though, our boy was able to slip the collar off on his own after a few attempts. He was also able to get the Kong Soft cone off. We "doubled up" by using the Kong soft cone collar plus this Cloud Collar to prevent him from getting either off initially (pic included.) After he got used to it, sometime on day 3, we took the Soft Cone style collar off, and left him with only the Cloud, since he had quit trying to take it off by then, and greatly preferred the Cloud style to the cone. My smaller kitten was also able to slip off the donut style, almost instantly, but when we tried to "double up" with her, she couldn't even walk since she's so small. We then removed the elastic drawstring that holds the other cone around the neck, and used that instead of her normal collar to keep the Cloud Collar on, and she was then unable to remove it. Since you might not have an elastic drawstring with an adjustable plastic slider lying around, you could possibly use some stretchy gauze (like they do to tie on the Cone of Shame at the vet's office.) To summarize: for cats, especially small ones, being able to walk and have full perepheral vision seems pretty important to them. Once my cats accepted that they'd have to wear something until they healed, and got a little used to it, they infinitely preferred the Kong Cloud Cone over the other styles we tried. However, it is easy for them to get off until they are resigned to that fact, and you might have to come up with a solution to combat that if your cats are especially wily. Still, the fact that they can eat and move normally is so helpful, and they even can use the cloud as a soft sleeping pillow as they recover, (it is difficult for them to get comfortable in the traditional cone.) It is also easier for them to turn and move in the cat carrier if you have to transport them to vet appointments during recovery. I definitely reccomend this product, but also reccomend trying it out with your cat and their collar before the surgery. I also should point out that with this collar, your cat is allowed to have a pretty full range of motion, and this does not keep your cat from jumping or playing very much - if at all. If your cat needs to be confined and kept still after their procedure, this will not do that, but if you want your cat to feel as comfortable as possible, I think this is a pretty good option. … more

  • Great Investment

    By on

I bought this pillow for my dog after getting stitches on his back and back leg, he did great with it. He wasn't able to reach the stitches and it made it much calmer than the hard plastic hood. When he had the hard plastic hood he seemed to be depressed a bit. Once I put this on him and he could see everything going on around him, he perked right up. Glad I invested in this item! I would recommend it!

  • More Comfortable than an e collar...

    By on

I would give a qualified yes for the item. Maybe an older dog would not be flexible enough to reach her stomach. I think the item was as advertised and seemed like a decent quality. However, my yorkie puppy was able to still lick her wounds. My yorkie was also able to lick her wounds with the e collar. The only thing that deterred her from licking was a onsie.

  • Location Location Location

    By on

Our dog has a chronic granuloma on the top of a front paw. It's a constant battle keeping him away from it. The traditional cone collar is so horrible and we have tried so many other approaches, all to no avail. Given that the Cloud Collar was somewhat inexpensive, we thought we'd give it a try. Within five minutes of wearing it, our dog was lying on the floor happily licking the granuloma, blood once again oozing. I can see this collar working if the wound or hot spot is in another location; but, in this case, the collar provided a gentle cushion on which our dog could rest his head while licking the granuloma.

  • The Donut of Shame works!

    By on

My Scottish Terrier has a chronic skin condition. When the flare up is bad, he pulls his fur out in big patches. The traditional Elizabethan collars keep him from going out the dog door and this creates other unpleasant problems. The Donut of Shame allows him to go outside and keeps him from biting at skin and pulling fur out.

  • Did not hold up

    By on

The reasons I purchased this after an ear cropping for our Great Dane puppy was because 1.) Kong is a GREAT company 2.)Chewy.com price is LOW & 3.) our multiple Great Danes have not been able to tear up anything by Kong! BUT, even though it was a perfect fit, our pup was able to chew a tiny hole in the collar so that it no longer hold air, within 36 hours--a Kong failure :-( (Chewy.com gave a full refund Great customer service!)
