Our little boy Huck was recently diagnosed with Eosinophilic complex, with a large eosinophilic granuloma in his mouth. He was also itchy and had runny poops. The thought process was an allergy. Trouble is, that allergy could be environmental or food. So, we decided to start with the food. Our vet suggested the select protein diet.(We want to avoid steroids because he's only a year old.) The idea is that he is reacting to a "common" protein and that feeding him one that he had not eaten before might solve the problem. Well, I bought the duck and pea. He ate it one time and now will not eat it at all. It has a thick sort of gummy consistency to it and I tried to mix it with a rabbit formula but he did not like that either. Lamb and venison are low on the like list too. And because we have 13 other "kids" I wanted to change everyone over to the same food, but only a few will eat these. So, this is my dilemma. I guess I'll keep trying and maybe eventually I'll find something that all of them like.

I searched high and low for something higher quality than FF and, cough, Beech Nut baby food for my girls. Yes, I had two junk food addicted cats.
While I personally don't like the consistency of this food (the venison option is better), I ain't the one eating it. Every other mid-grade (I can't afford the super fancy stuff) wet food I tried with my girls would make one of them run away and the other become expert at eating around what she didn't like. My girls love this stuff. Devour it. I will try to swap it out for the venison to give them some variety...

Unfortunately one of our two cats throws up when eating this food. Could be a cat allergy.

I got this formula to replace the "Salmon & Green Pea", since my kitty now hates that one since Natural Balance changed the formula. At first, he liked the "Duck...", but now has decided it isn't his favorite either. His most favorite is the "Chicken & Green Pea", so I guess I'll have to just keep it at that, instead of trying to give him a variety. I will donate the remainder of the "Duck..." as I am sure some little kitty will like it.
I do want to say that Chewy has been so great in refunding the ones that I have contacted them about. They are the most WONDERFUL company to buy from!! I don't even want to bother them with this shipment...will just donate it to a good cause.

Rated 2 out of 5 by cam77 Food only a formerly fat cat would enjoy
Only one of my two cats will eat this. The other cat isn't really that picky, so this flavor is sub par. That's probably why it's so cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PWhitewolf Great product, but now my cats won't touch it.
This is the second case I've order in two weeks (two different flavors). The cats used to like this food, and now they won't touch it. Under any circumstances. I'm going to try one more flavor (the salmon), as my cats loved that. Not sure if Natural Balance has changed ingredients, changed the recipes, or what, but I can't keep ordering this if the cats won't eat it. Hopefully, the cats at the local shelter will be a little less picky.

Rated 4 out of 5 by heavensent Price is good. Color isn't appealing (to me). It's a little dense so I add some water.
my 14 year old cat is eating it and there are no side affects like those from other foods she use to eat. She can't have fish, poultry, beef or corn. It works for her. She actually wants more. I'm happy she's happy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Alyse You want me to eat this?
This food is very bland and we don't particularly like the flavor. It is tolerable at best. Mom bought us this because it's healthy and had limited ingredients with high protein, but we will only eat it as a last resort when we are STARVING! I guess mom will just have to keep looking!
