We are as grain free as we can in this house due to allergies. We were feeding Nutriscia, but when one of the dogs was diagnosed with a poss chicken allergy, I went looking for a food with more choices. Found Natural Balance.
I saw they had grain free cat food that was quite a bit cheaper. I know its a good brand so I decided to give it a try for Percival.
He loves it and he's just as active - he's 12 and still jumps up and plays.
So great food and a good price!!

This is an expensive cat food when you're feeding 2 cats. My little guy has a lot of allergies and since he started this food, he has improved. I used to have to get this food at a specialty pet store and it was pricey. With auto ship and no tax, I save almost $4.00 a bag. Also, Chewy always has all 3 varieties in stock. The shop where I was getting their food was having trouble getting the chicken and duck varieties in. Of course, that is their favorite types. I recommend you check Chewy's for specialty cat foods, before a specialty pet store. I used to get all my dog's needs at Chewy's but now my kitties as well.

I have always purchased well-known brand name dry cat food for my fur babies to supplement their wet food, but after watching a documentary on cats, I started questioning my choices when I looked at the ingredients they contained. So I started researching dry cat food, reading dozens of articles online posted by veterinarians and pet support groups, plus looking at reviews on dozens of different dry food brands. As a result, I decided to try Natural Balance L.I.D. Green Pea & Chicken Formula. It's only been about 3 weeks, and they are still consuming a very small amount of the old food mixed with the new, but the results are incredible. FYI, All of my fur babies are healthy, regular vet checks, but one in particular had loose stools, and all have stinky pooh. Plus there is a mystery puker in the group, it's not that often but we do find it occasionally. Sorry to be so graphic, but I want to be thorough in my review. As of today, no loose stool, "normal" pooh smell, not the clear the room smell we experienced before the switch, and no mystery puke. Also, my 2 younger males are starting to fill out. I think it's because of the higher protein content, less filler, so I probably need to cut back just a bit so they don't get chunky. And the bonus, they love it! I've tried another brand previously that I got from our vet, which they refused to eat, no joke. I ended up returning it. I'm so glad we tried this dry food!! Just ordered my second bag. It's a keeper!

My roommates' cat had been battling with allergies for quite some time. She had a growing bald patch at the base of her tail, scabs around her mouth, vomit, weight loss and a complete disinterest in being touched. She had gone to the vet twice a year for a steroid injection but we really wanted to get to the bottom of her problem. We did an at home allergy test and found out that she was allergic to fish. We tried Hill's ZD but it had a few of the ingredients that didn't sit well with her (soy) and the other hypoallergenic foods had fish oil in them. When I stumbled on Natural Balance we were really hoping it would help. Since being on this recipe she has grown all her fur back, no more scabs, no more vomit and she has gained all her weight back. In fact we are going to have to start setting meal times as they both have gotten a little hefty. She actually came up to me and pawed me this morning begging for attention, a far cry from how she used to be. These kitties have finally found a food they can stay on.

I purchased the chicken formula recently b/c it's a little cheaper. Normally, I purchase the venison formula. The cats loved this just as much.

I was reluctant to buy a food with peas as the first ingredient (the only reason I didn't rate this a 5), however, I've tried many brands and types of grain-free foods for my cat with digestive issues with no improvement. We gradually transitioned to this limited ingredient food and in about a week my kitty's litter pan "results" were amazingly improved. We started with the dry food because he has never tolerated canned, but I'm going to try the wet version of the pea and chicken formula as I do think wet is preferable for cats. I hope that a stretch with this food might allow my little guy to move to a meat vs. pea based formula but for now I am just delighted to scoop solid and "clean" poops :-)
