  • Baxter says OM NOM NOM!

Baxter is my Old Man Cat (16 years old) who lost the majority of his site about 2 years ago, has high blood pressure, acid reflux and was recently diagnosed with the start of pancreatitis. The vet said to switch him to a grain free, low carb, high protein, limited ingredient food. Sounds delicious doesn't it? yeah, that's what Baxter thought too. ;) after searching and trying 20+ different food options (most of which offended Baxter's advanced palate) i turned to Chewy.com and messaged back and forth with the most amazing cat food connoisseur who provided me with several options. The Instinct was one of them (actually 2, the salmon flavor was suggested as well) and i promptly ordered up Baxter is my Old Man Cat (16 years old) who lost the majority of his site about 2 years ago, has high blood pressure, acid reflux and was recently diagnosed with the start of pancreatitis. I will be placing another order for this today. … more

  • Yummy in meow tummy

I have been using the Nature's Variety dry food for a while, and decided to try their wet food, since my fur babies LOVE their dry food. I was a little weary changing up the wet food (from Fancy Feast), since they (i have 2 fur balls) are very picky when it comes do wet food. To my surprise, they LOVE it! The texture is pate with a tiny bit of gravy and it has cubes of real carrots and peas. I didn't think they would care for either of the veggies, but to my surprise they 'dogged' it. I love that it also comes in 3 oz size, it's enough for one portion and nothing gets wasted and there's no need for leftovers (as opposed to a larger size can). Definitely recommend it for a healthier and grain-free I have been using the Nature's Variety dry food for a while, and decided to try their wet food, since my fur babies LOVE their dry food. • best there is thats affordable

i am very grateful that my cats have accepted this food and continue to eat it. I understand that by cat standards this isn't the 'tastiest' because when i fed it to outdoor cats, they refused to even touch it. They much rather eat fancy feast. What makes the difference with my cats is that they've been eating this food since they were kittens and they're now 3 years old and still prefer this food over others. I also wanna add that I have to add TREATS to the food to get them to eat it. I use PureBites chicken treats. Is it worth it? YES! it's the healthiest food on the market next to raw.

  • Inconsistent

    By on

Only issue you I've had with this food over the last 6+ months is the consistency of food in each can. Coloring differences mostly, I'd say the last couple batch of cans my cats don't love so much. Previous batches seemed more fresh. Overall Cats seem happier and healthier!

  • great stuff

All my cats love this stuff. They were all ferals at one time so IBS is a serious problem in our house. This product so far seems to keep that in check combined with the matching kibbles.

  • Kitties love it!

Both cats love it so far after recently deciding they no longer appreciate the wellness wet food they have eaten forever. Did research on cat food, and this was highly ranked and healthy for my three cats, too. Fingers crossed they stick w it!

  • My Picky Girl likes it!

    By on

Goli, my 5 years old girl is a very picky eater and I've tried many brands and between all "instinct chicken formula" is one of her favorite. I usually give her half of the 3 oz canned and mix it with a bit of warm water (few spoons only) and mix it for a few seconds. Lately I noticed that the product is more watery which I like it better and sometimes I don't even need to mix it with warm water. 4 stars because if I feed her just with Instinct all the time, she gets tired and asks for something else! But I recommend it. Bon Appetit!

  • cats would not eat

    By on

I have been trying to buy the best for my cats to eat but seems they don't like it. I gave a can of Instinct to the outside cats and they would not touch it either. So have decided to stay with fancy feast as all of them love that one.

  • Top choice for soft food.

    By on

Nature's variety instinct is a top choice for cats soft food for both quality and healthy ingredients not to mention cats love it. While it is on the expensive end your cats will be healthier for it and I feed my two cats half this and half of a high quality dry food for their 3 meals a day and a can lasts 5 meals or almost 2 days. The only issue you might have is since it is a pate it is a bit more solid then other types of soft food and even more so since I store it in the refrigerator between meals. Because of this I add a bit extra water to it, cats getting more water in their diet is a good thing, and heat up the two bowels together in the microwave for 8 seconds to make it easier Nature's variety instinct is a top choice for cats soft food for both quality and healthy ingredients not to mention cats love it.
