Rated 5 out of 5 by Saved my cat's life That sounds dramatic, but it's not. My kitty is 1 1/2 years old. When he was about 6 months old he was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) caused by coronavirus and was very sick. He had gross, wet, clear-the-room stinky stools and was in renal failure. My vet didn't expect him to live. We were devastated. I did a TON of internet research and landed on Nature's Instinct. I picked it because of the ingredients list which included montmorillonite clay. The food looks like real food. You can see actual vegetables in the food. My kitty is not only alive but has made a complete recovery (and his poo smells SO MUCH BETTER!). I have nothing but good things to say about Natures Instinct. We will feed our pets nothing else! Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome for my picky eater I have definitely recommend this food to all my friends! After hours and hours of countless research I found this to meet all the marks!! It was mentioned on many many third-party review blogs and websites . But what is even more compelling is that when I got it home and served it to my cat (who has always been a picky eater or and turned his nose up or only taking a couple bites) he got so excited and is always scarfing it down !! To me the smell is compelling- it is real. Also there's a great amount of moisture and the quantity of proteins to fat to carbs is ideal. Unbelievable. I cannot say enough about this wet food. There are no grains or starches like potato- no fillers- just real food; it's 95% protein. Then 5% is vegetables; you can see little pieces of real veggie in there. Everything gets eaten; my cats clean their plate!! I could not be happier or more impressed. July 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by High Protein diet I bought this food for two of my cats - one who has chronic diarrhea (age 10) and one who is overweight (age 7). The older cat really loves it and his stools are improving. The younger cat is more reserved and may walk away when the food is first presented, but will come back and gobble it up. I am transitioning my cats from only dry food to primarily wet food after learning it is easier for them to digest, and more suited to the natural diet of a cat. I am pleased with this product and would recommend it. August 27, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Quality control issue recently I've been feeding my cat the same Instinct LID Turkey and Duck for a few months now. One can of this 12 can shipment that I received seemed to be extremely light so I used a scale to measure it. It is 125 grams at best including g the weight of the can. I measure another one in the case and it weighted about 160 grams including the can. I am concerned with the manufacture's quality control after the ownership change in May 2016. Photos of both cans are attached. Also notice that the can that weighted 160 grams is missing the date on the bottom of the can. This is another manufacture quality control issue. The water content and texture also seem to vary each shipment lately....I've notified the manufacture this time instead of Chewy since this is a production issue. July 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for my cat's health I started her on a wet diet from a free feed dry diet because she was having trouble passing stool and vomiting. She was also picking up weight. I'm happy to report that she has an easier time in the litter box, doesn't throw up, and has even lost a little weight. I tried a cheaper brand first but her breath smelled like death on it. That's a big problem since she insists on bathing my face every night at bedtime. No more dragon breath on this. August 19, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not good for my picky eaters So my guys will nibble at this food but are not thrilled with it. If I serve it for breakfast half will still be there 12 hours later when I feed them dinner. If I serve it next to another type of wet food they will not even touch it. It's only a last resort for them. But it's a good product with healthy ingredients so I had to at least give it 2 stars. I won't be purchasing again though. August 9, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by good Although I approve of the ingredients and both my cats are drawn to the smell and happily eat it, the solids volume is lower than they're accustomed to (they've been eating a pate style canned food) and both cats are hungry again well before the next meal time. I probably will not buy it again because it breaks my heart they're both begging for food within a couple of hours of eating. One of my boys is diabetic so I can't provide extra calories to satisfy him. But if your cat is satisfied with a less dense food with plenty of liquid, then I do recommend it. July 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My cat loves it! I recently watched a program that explained how cats are one of the only mammals that are pure carnivores, they need high protein, taurine, and obtain most of their water from the food they eat. This food meets all of those requirements and my cat loves it. In addition to dry food, she eats about 1/4 of a can each night. I store the rest in glassware in the fridge and heat it for 10 seconds.
