When my nearly 17 year-old cat developed Irritable Bowel, a holistic vet recommended Nature's Variety Pride. Although Boston was already eating a high quality, limited ingredient canned food, I was told that rabbit is the most highly digestible, natural and best option for a cat with Irritable Bowel and the diarrhea and vomiting that go along with it. I have two other cats and all three had to switch to Ritzy's Rabbit as they are all free-fed. This is the only food I have ever tried in over 20 years that all three cats were eating within a couple hours. After about 10 days of gradually adding Ritzy's Rabbit Recipe to the old diet and finally switching completely, Boston's vomiting stopped and.....sorry for the graphic description here......his stools, which were the consistency of pudding before I started this food, were normal, firm poop. Yes, it's expensive, but it's absolutely worth it. It's a very high quality, natural and healthy alternative to prednisone or other medication used to treat IB. I don't know if it's fair to say it saved Boston's life, but it absolutely cleared up his IB and he's a lot more comfortable and a lot happier. And I am, too. This is a fantastic food! … more

My cat is so picky but surprisingly he likes this. He does have a preference over the texture too. He prefer the flaked vs minced and he knows the difference.

  • A hit with KC

KC really enjoys this product! She likes most Natures Variety Canned Cat Food. Even though the pride MINCED, not the Flaked has guar gum in it(only) I'm ok with that opposed to most other grain free cans out there which have so much more questionable ingredients in them. She also like the Natures Variety instinct cans as well. I alternate her cans day by day of natures variety and she hasn't gotten bored yet.

  • The caviar of cat food

I swear when my three cats ( two toygers one tonk) are done it looks like I just took their bowls out of the dishwasher. I usually leave a little in the bottom of the can so my toygers can spend 15 minutes trying to get every last morsel .

Although I (and my cat) prefer the other recipes of this food, they're all great quality.

  • Good food for cat with food allergies

Another good product from Nature's Variety. This company has really been a lifesaver for my cat. I had trouble finding foods without chicken, beef or fish as part of the ingredients. This food is something my cat can eat and that he enjoys. I've also given him the lamb and venison(Instinct). The rabbit is his favorite, but he has developed more of a liking for the venison and lamb than he had at first. His stomach is 100% better on these foods.

  • Cats looooove this.

My two pals LOVE all of the Pride varieties. When I first started them on the minced type of food, they'd just suck up the gravy & leave a lot of the bits behind. They were used to pate. I found (noticed some other reviewers did this, too) if I mashed it up with a spoon or fork & about a Tbsp of water, they dove right in & ate it all. Now, after a few months on this food, I no longer have to do this!

  • Just what the Doctor ordered...

My two felines, in particular the male began having digestive problems with regular feline canned food. The Vet suggested we try a food that was "wild" and easier on the stomach, such as rabbit or venison. It is very difficult to find canned venison so I tried this product and the felines are tolerating it very well and the digestive problems have ceased.
