Rated 5 out of 5 by Grain free, use as treats for my kitty with CKD 1 of my cats has kidney disease so eating dry food isn't such a good idea. We are managing several chronic diseases which requires multiple medications, so he gets treats as a reward for taking his meds. I was struggling to find a wholesome, grain-free treat that he would eat and about all I could find were freeze-dried meats which he doesn't really care for. There are some "grain-free" treats out there but they have oat flour- which is a grain- so that isn't really grain-free! He's a fanatic for dry food but since we cut that out due to dehydration associated with CKD, I started buying this to use as a treat and he is delighted! Orijen's dry kibbles are quality sourced and don't have the ingredients that are troublesome. My guy loves all of the flavors! If using as a treat, consider getting the smallest bag so that you aren't keeping a ton of kibble on hand (freshest is better). We share our bag with my mom & her kitties so it doesn't stick around for very long! May 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wish I'd found this sooner! So yes, this food is far more expensive than most brands, but the quality is also far superior to any other brand and you don't need to feed as much. I recently had a bad experience with the Wellness Salmon dry food so I spent a week researching the various brands before settling on this one. While I know that it's best to feed an all canned or raw diet I have two cats who won't eat enough unless they have at least some kibble. This formula is amazing and my cats love it. I'll continue to feed them a little of this in the morning mixed in with their canned food. I just wish I'd come across this a long time ago! July 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Kitty cannot get enough! Our 10 month old cat loves this dry food. Originally we had been giving her another fish based premium grain free food, and her stools were unbearably smelly and sometimes loose. So we decided to ditch the fish. After lots of research, we decided to try Orijen Regional Red, because of its unique list of proteins, and we liked the ingredient list a bit better than the chicken based Original Orijen. Our kitty is very high energy, and it seemed that cats like her thrived on the Regional Red according to reviews. We got a trial size at our local pet store, and she LOVED it! Cannot get enough, and her stools are pretty normal now. So we have to make sure to not give her TOO much. We got the 5 lb bag at our local store, but we just ordered the 15 lb bag on Chewy because of the great price and our local store doesn't carry the 15 lb bag of RR, they only have the Original and Six Fish in 15 lb. We also got the Tundra treats from Chewy and she loves those too! You cannot go wrong with Orijen. Chewy delivers quickly as well! Via FedEx and it was only 2 days. April 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by cat loves it, but a bit salty My cat is really picky about her food but she loves this one. However, this tastes more salty than the Nature's Variety rabbit formula to me. Will definitely buy again. July 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by even better than the original flavor I bought Origen Regional Red after first trying their more basic flavor. One of my cats has barbered himself on his belly, and I wanted to see if removing grain from his food would help him. He and my other cat liked it, and adjusted to it within a week. On a whim (an expensive one), I decided to notch up to the Regional Red. Both cats devour it. They used to self-pace with the basic flavor, but with this, I'm going to have to be careful about how much I put out! And, bonus, my boy's belly fur is starting to come back in. July 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Orijen is the best cat food we have tried Orijen is a great quality cat food. Comes vacuum sealed which is simple but a nice touch to keep food fresh. We have had multiple urinary issues with both our male cats from other organic grain free brands. So far so good. We have been using Orijen for over two months and no fare ups yet. It is pricey yes, but cheaper than vet bills and our cats are happy. July 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Big surprise I had to change my cats' food and after two solid weeks of research I chose Origen Red. My cat, who is super picky, took one bite and fell in love with the food. I know it's expensive but at least she is eating good healthy food. Top quality. Now I need to find an equally excellent wet food that she will eat. She has food allergies and I discovered the common store food is full of junk. July 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy Kitties When we feed our cats dry food, we specifically choose this brand for several reasons : namely, we know and understand the ingredient list. Secondly, the products are usually 80% protein and 20% other product. Thirdly and most importantly, our kitties love it and it doesn't upset any of their bellies!! Love this product! July 9, 2016
