Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for the crazy allergic cat! Could not figure out why our cat kept pulling out her blasted fur & had itchy hives. For two years we changed carpet shampoo, cat beds, special soaps, etc. We were already feeding them grain free so never thought of food. Our vet gave her steroid shots which helped for a while, but it came back. One day I gave the cats tuna for breakfast instead of cat food as a treat & by human dinner time she was itching so much she was bonkers! Bingo on the allergen! I found this one, thought the label had no fish but after 4 months just noticed it has a little. Maybe it's a certain kind of fish? Who knows since she can't speak English. This Orijen Red has the least amount of fish that I can find(it has herring I guess ) and she doesn't itch, she acts like a normal cat..... well, ok does any cat really act normal until they get old? Within days her skin cleared up and in a week hair grew back. I highly recommend this! we have run out twice & tried other things only to see the symptoms return until we get this back in her bowl (not available in our town - only online). No idea what I'd do if i hadn't found this.... prob be looking for quick/easy homemade cat food recipes or getting something less tasteful. September 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Grain free, use as treats for my kitty with CKD 1 of my cats has kidney disease so eating dry food isn't such a good idea. We are managing several chronic diseases which requires multiple medications, so he gets treats as a reward for taking his meds. I was struggling to find a wholesome, grain-free treat that he would eat and about all I could find were freeze-dried meats which he doesn't really care for. There are some "grain-free" treats out there but they have oat flour- which is a grain- so that isn't really grain-free! He's a fanatic for dry food but since we cut that out due to dehydration associated with CKD, I started buying this to use as a treat and he is delighted! Orijen's dry kibbles are quality sourced and don't have the ingredients that are troublesome. My guy loves all of the flavors! If using as a treat, consider getting the smallest bag so that you aren't keeping a ton of kibble on hand (freshest is better). We share our bag with my mom & her kitties so it doesn't stick around for very long! May 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by good i looked all around and all the cat dog and ferret kibble out there has a bad form of vitamin b1 thiamine monoritrate which comes from petroium which is harmfull to both humans and animals orogen is the only one that does not use this I am feeding this to ferrets October 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product! After searching so long for a good dry food I decided to spend the extra money for Orijen. I alternate three kinds ( Chicken,Red meat, and fish) of Orijen and sometimes mix them. It does cost more but my cats don't eat as much anymore, so the Orijen lasts twice as long I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, all my cats like this food and after a month of being on it, their hair is so shiny, and soft. Two of my cats had allergies, one Urinary infections. Now they are all healthy! October 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by "Regional Red" is a new favorite! Before purchasing this product, I read the reviews. I also read the ingredient list, which begins with "wild boar, lamb and beef". This variety is still made in Canada, which means, in my opinion, higher standards and a better quality of food. Three of my four cats also eat high quality canned food three times a day, along with some of the "Regional Red" for 'treats'. One refuses to eat ANY canned food, poached chicken, shrimp...anything but dry food. With this brand and another Canadian poultry-based food, I can be assured of them having the best quality dry food. Thanks to Chewy, I have easy access to these products and great service! Rated 5 out of 5 by One of the best dry cat foods Orijen is one of the very best dry cat food companies that I have researched in my effort to get a dry food that doesn't have a lot of unnecessary and potentially harmful ingredients for cats. It is expensive but you get what you pay for.... very high quality. September 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My two cats loved it from the start This isn't the first time that my cats have eaten the Regional Red. I also feed the Cat and Kitten formula and alternate between the two along with some other food. What I noticed is that they liked it immediately. It seemed to be tasty to them. Some cats reject food they don't like but this is not that food. September 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by cats favorite Orijen is the only food my cat will eat, he loves all 3 varieties. I like it because of its superior ingredients. Great food equals healthy happy cat! September 26, 2016
