Rated 1 out of 5 by NinaB Formula changed to fish, not chicken liver as described
Jazz has been on these for years and her mobility definitely improves when she gets two snacks a day.
Last few weeks she's has incredibly ordorous diarrhea and we haven't been able to figure out why. Just realized manufacturer changed the recipe from chicken liver to fish meal. Jazz cannot metabolize fish (or beef or egg yolks)!
Chewy's description of this product is WRONG (still says chicken liver flavor) - read the product package for actual info.
While these once really helped my cat move well, the lack of clarity from the manufacturer about the recipe change knocks the rating down. Clearly even Chewy didn't know it changed!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JulieB Works very well for severe kitty arthritis; try mincing it
My 16-year old cat has severe arthritis, so I tried VetriScience's II, III, and Plus for cats first. They're all made by the same Vermont company as this product, but seem a bit more pricey, and only the Plus has chondroitin.
My kitty did well on VetriScience III for a couple of years, then suddenly was in pain again. I tried Cosequin, which has both glucosamine and chondroitin, even though I didn't like the titanium dioxide -- which Environmental Working Group recommends against. Within a few days, my cat was in so much pain that she stopped moving, became constipated, and could barely hop onto a low step.
So I tried this Hip + Joint product, which has both glucosamine and chondroitin. She's only been on it for a few days, but I already see a difference: last night she did a bit of grooming, she's jumping much better, and she behaves like she's no longer in pain. I have hope that in a month, she'll be in good shape again.
Long story short: for kitties with severe arthritis, both glucosamine and chondroitin seem to be needed. I recommend something with a high dose of both, and I think this particular product has other ingredients that boost its effectiveness.
A NOTE ON FEEDING: My cat has no teeth due to severe gingivitis, so these are impossible for her to chew. She loves the taste, it's just too hard on her gums -- so I mince the chews with a knife into tiny slices that I sprinkle, like garnish, on her wet food. (It only takes 30 seconds.) So if your kitty doesn't seem to like these, it could just be that her gums are bothered. Before you give up, I recommend trying the mince-into-flakes-and-sprinkle-on-wet-food approach.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Felinefan1 Very effective
These things seem to really work. Neither one of my cats have much trouble getting around. But I noticed they were not jumping up on the bed quite as easily as they used to. So I thought I would get a jump on the situation before it had a chance to get any worse. After only a couple days they were back to full jumping capacity. The only down side is they are a bit oversized and the texture a bit difficult for a cat to easily chew up and swallow. I break them into bite size pieces and they gobble them right up. Will definitely order again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RooMunchkin Works for my cat!
I first bought a bag from our local pet supply store to try. I figured it would be easier to return in case he had a bad reaction to the chews since they have a good return policy. He did well on them and I started noticing a subtle improvement in his mobility after just a few days, which was unexpected. After 2 weeks it was more noticeable with his jumping. He used to have a lot of "clicks" when he walked around and I stopped hearing them or would hear them much less frequently after the first few days of starting these. Chewy has the best price so I ordered our second bag here and will continue to get this great joint supplement from chewy! Our tabby is 13 years old and in good health. He gets 2-3 chews a day and he loves the taste. They don't affect his stools and haven't given him diarrhea or soft stools. His coat even seems a bit softer. Our vet is a fan of MSM and says it's a good thing to include in our cat/dog's diet in general.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kittylady12 Great product
I was a bit unsure about this but the reviews sold me. After a little more than a week of giving it to our 14 year old kitty he is moving a bit easier especially getting up and down from a lying position. He was struggling do that and walking was hard for him. His hips were not working well. I am happy to see improvements already. Hope after a couple of months on this hip and joint wonder supplement he will walk with more ease. He loves them and wants more. I started him out with 2 a day for the first week since he was doing so poorly. It was right for him.
Thank you, RT
