  • Quality food that everyone likes!

    By on

I have 10 cats ranging in age from 5 to 18 and finding a quality food that everyone likes has been almost impossible -- until now. I was not familiar with the PetGuard brand but after reading very positive reviews, decided to give it a try. WOW! 10 out of 10 cats approve the Fish, Chicken & Liver Dinner and the Turkey and Rice dinner. I've ordered several other flavors to try!

  • High Quality Balanced Diet

    By on Top 250 Contributor

For a non-grain free food, this is exceptional. I feed mostly grain free but decided, based on the reviews, to try it for my CRF senior and other three cats. It rates very low on phosphorus and high on taste. Virtually every bit gone from kitty plates. The first three ingredients are meat, broth, and liver. It is a balanced diet food. It is free of all the nasty things in some other pet food like by-products, artificial preservatives, wheat gluten, colors, dyes etc... I still give a prescription canned and dry every other feeding but feel secure that this food is good for all cats. I first found it in our local health food store but Chewy sells it for a lot less!!! Thanks Chewy....

  • carrageenan free, fish free, great product

Very good ingredients, my 4 cats love it. Decent prices for such good quality, and the 13.2 oz. cans are cheaper per oz. than the 5.5 oz. Still worry about the BPA, though.

  • They love it!

    By on

I feed other flavors of Petguard but had never tried this one. All 5 of my cats immediately loved it. I love it because it is one protein source and rice is quite far down on the ingredients list.

  • Best ingredience!

    By on

Pet Guard is at the top of my list as the best food. How ever the turkey and rice flavor is a little dry compared to the other flavors. So to satisfy the picky ones I need to add a little water to it. You are still the best. Thank You.

  • humane farm

    By on

Pet Guard pet food is from a family owned farm in California that treats the animals humanely until slaughter. The food is organic and clean. My cats gobble this down.

  • Lower phosphorus

    By on

I bought this for my cat with kidney disease since it is lower in phosphorus. It's not bad in terms of ingredients. Of course it has rice, but sometimes with low phosphorus foods you have to make a compromise. My cat didn't mind it, but she's not very picky. It was drier, no sauce or anything like that. That doesn't matter to me though since I always add water to their food. With the bigger cans you usually get a little more for your money.

  • I like to try different blends, even with carbohdrates.

My cats like all the PetGuard products. I like to feed different blends to them, even ones that contain carbohydrates.

  • Product was dry

    By on

I've used PetGuard Chicken/Beef dinner and Premium Feast Dinner. The cats(two Bengals) don't like the Turkey & Rice dinner because it seems quite a bit dryer than the 2 above mentioned dinners. I will stick with Chicken/Beef dinner & Premium feast dinner's for now.
