  • Solved all of our issues

    By on

We have 2 cats. One is very glutinous and eat extremely fast. Once she finished her food, she would run over to the other cat’s bowl and start eating it too. Our other cat liked to take her time eating. We bought this interactive feeder to help slow down eating habits and maintain a healthy diet for our younger cat and it does just that. I can feed both of our cats at the same time and they now finish at the same time. It took a few days for our cat to get used to it but now, she knows exactly what to do when the ball hits the floor. Because it takes her longer to eat now, she actually gets full by the time she finishes her meal and no longer bothers the other cat at all. Problem solved!

  • My cats are too fat and lazy for this?

    By on

I got this for my two young cats (~10 months) because they have seemed bored and have recently become destructive. Allowing them to work for their food or even treats seemed like a good way to keep them busy while I was gone. I thought the size of holes, and the adjustability was good for my cats and even my senior dog. It allowed me to put various sizes of treats inside depending on the animal and allowed me to adjust the "difficulty" level. However, the top was (apparently) to easy to get off because that's often what my cats would do to get inside. They did show interest the first few days but weren't thrilled with it as a toy or way to get food. I still fill it up once a week or so, but I got this for my two young cats (~10 months) because they have seemed bored and have recently become destructive. • Cats think its fun!

Having 11 cats, not all of them always agree on treats and toys. This, however, was definitely a nice one to add to the collection. This was yet another successful item we found on chewy and let me tell you why: The first thing I noticed was that the SlimCat Interactive cat feeder was high-quality. I mean it was well constructed and didn't easily fall apart as similar products have. We have tried that adorable little mouse one from Friskies and unfortunately, the head would never stay on. One swat and it was off and lost. So we had given up on it. This one, the pieces seem to stay together and hold up well. It has yet to fall apart under the pressure of the cats swatting it and even the dog Having 11 cats, not all of them always agree on treats and toys. It has yet to fall apart under the pressure of the cats swatting it and even the dog taking a go at it trying to steal the cats treats! It's a hard sturdy type plastic, not flimsy cheaply made feeling type stuff. The bottom line is that this was well constructed and seems like it was made to last for more than one round! Unlike other designs where the hole are already cut out, this and the treats can easily come out, this was designed a slight bit differently. You still have the part that you twist to pour the treats in, but in the mid-section of the ball, you are actually able to twist that allows you open or close the openings. You can even have them just partly opened to make it a bit more challenging if you want! There are no sharp or pointy edges so it's still completely safe. It just makes it more challenging so your pet will ultimately exercise and work for the treat! Also, you can put a good amount of treats in there, not just a few little pieces. This is perfect for homes, such as mine, with multiple cats so everyone has a chance to get a treat. Needless to say, this was a pleasant experience for the cats. They had a lot of fun swatting the ball around to get their reward as well as swatting at the dog who kept getting in the way. For the price, I definitely think it is worth investing in for your pet(s)! … more

  • Used/Damaged

I got my order for this the 3 days ago, it was damaged, It looked like it was maybe a return because of all of the scratches it had on it. The box was damaged too. I called Chewy and they sent me a new one out right away and I just got it today, very quick service. Also one other item the lid was damaged but it was still ok, they credited me half off even after I told them it would be ok without the lid. Chewy stands by their products and is always so quick to send out and to receive my products. Only thing I wonder about is who packs the stuff, I get cat litter and they pack it with all the items I order so its a little off balance and can easily be damaged in the delivery. • It works for me

    By on

I have a 5 year old cat who is the scarf it down and throw it up type. He also managed to put on some weight. This slimcat feeder has been the answer for me. He went for it right away. I gave him 2 days to figure it out and then put out of sight his food bowl and food. I can control how much food he eats and he is getting the exercise he needs. It is fun watching him batting it around until some food falls out. He seems to enjoy it. Had to tape up some of the holes to get the amount coming out right. He is losing weight. Don't know how much yet, but I can see he is getting slimmer.

  • Interactive, maybe

    By on

I have 2 normal weight boys, and 1 chunky girl. I have seen these on animal planet shows to help chunkies loose weight, so thought I would give it a try. Several friends have chunky girls, so I bought several. All three of my cats will eat the food that comes out IF and only IF I roll it around. I even withheld food for a day trying to get them interested. Apparently they want their food served, and in a bowl. After all, they may be animals, but they are not beasts. I don't know how the feeders are working for my friends. I just know mine are too civilized to eat off the floor.

  • Works Like a Charm!

    By on

We have an overweight cat at the shelter for which we placed her on a 1/4-cup, twice a day diet. She would inhale her food in just a few gulps (less than 5 minutes). I saw this product being used on "My Big Fat Pet Makeover" show on Animal Planet so I bought it. The product works amazingly well! She now takes her time eating her daily allotment of food, plus she is having fun doing it. Highly recommended for overweight cats who inhale their food!

  • Kibble-dispenser is almost perfect!

    By on

Frankie Cat, my foster, has food issues. He gobbles his food, then purges. This SlimCat ball is a life-saver, but could be improved if the dispensing aperture had a little less-generous setting. Either too much comes out, or too little. Nevertheless, this ball redirects Frankie's attention to getting food from the ball instead of screaming at me nonstop.

  • Great cat toy

    By on

My cat Gizmo absolutely loves this toy. It is really a good deal and my cat can play with it all afternoon. I try to give him more wet than dry food so I like that he has to work for his reward of dry food or treats. The holes are pretty big, but I just realized there is a locking mechanism on this so the holes can be a lot smaller. This is a great toy. Highly recommend!

  • Great for Kittens

    By on

Our newest addition to the family had an obsession with chasing pieces of his dry food around the dinning room. Thought this feeder ball would be great for him, and to my surprise he took to the concept really well. He actually looks for the food when he rolls it around! He's my smart little boy!
