  • Serenity and the cat is happy!

The ceramic fountain is an answer to a prayer! The other fountain I used was plastic and the design caused my cat Boots to hit the 'fall' no matter how she approached the well. Also in her efforts to avoid getting wet, there was always water on the floor around her bowl. More cleanup duties for me than bargained for. Not so with the Pioneer -- the aeration is attained without having a 'fall' and the bubbling effect for me is soothing. Boots stays dry and hydrated -- a very happy family!

  • Ceramic Fountain is the best!

    By on

I wanted a fountain water bowl for my dogs to keep their water fresh. They prefer ceramic water bowls over stainless or plastic. I didn't think I'd find a ceramic fountain but I saw this one and had to try it. I'm not disappointed. It took them about a day to start using it but once they did they haven't stopped. It's very quiet and I love how easy it is to clean. The ceramic was the right choice, I'm glad I held out until I found the right one.

  • Four paws up

My cats have had a fountain that was a different variety for several years. They love the flowing water, (several toys have have gone swimming in it as well LOL). I love the fact that this is ceramic and much easier to clean, it seems to stay cleaner than the plastic varieties. It is also heavy enough to be tip resistant, since I have one cat that loves to stand or scoop the water out of the bowl consistently. I find the gentle noise it makes relaxing as well.

  • Quietest of the ones I've had.

I really like this fountain, the motor is strong, so the water's cleaned better. To have it full on the pool side, I had to tilt the running water side up slighly, used a peice of foam. Cats drink more from a full bowl and with out tipping it, water ran off the fountain side.

  • quiet and attractive fountain/toy

Alexander, my rascally ragdoll, loves water and for the first day this fountain was a splash toy. Now he loves drinking (and playing) and his water is always fresh. This fountain is very quiet. I place a (human) incontinence pad under the fountain. They are cheaper than "house training" pee-pads and keep splashes off the floor.

  • Great water fountain

    By on

This is the first water fountain I have owned. After one of my females had a UTI I started looking into them. My male cat also goes not eat wet food, so I wanted to find a way to encourage him to drink more water. It was very easy to set up and the minute I turned it on all my cats came running! I see them lounging by it and drinking out if it multiple times a day. I have yet to test how long it will last, but it appears easy to clean and maintain.

  • Easy to clean water fountain.

    By on

I have 3 cats with different water sources preferences. They drink from my mug, 10 Qt bucket, fountain, and any other open water container. So I had all sort of pet fountain over the years. I had same model in stainless steel before ceramic version. Stainless steel was hard to wash from water calcined deposit. It never looked clean. Ceramic model is much easier to clean. Don't get me wrong, you still has to disassemble the motor and clean the crud out but container part is easy to swipe clean. The water fountain does have strong resemblance with toilet bowl but it does serve function. Cats drink from it form time to time, it's easy to clean, nothing else matter.

  • Cats love it!

I originally ordered this for my cat, Merlin, that had chronic kidney disease. I wanted him to drink more water. It took him a little longer to switch from the regular ceramic bowl but he did. At the time, I had 6 cats and they all drank from it. Sadly, we lost Merlin last month to CKD. My remaining 5 cats love the fountain. I've noticed their water intake has increased tremendously as I have to add 1-2 cups of water 2-3 times daily. This fountain is super easy to clean. There is some fountain noise but it's very peaceful to me. My cats love it and we all give it 5 stars!

  • Good quality ceramic fountain

    By on

I was impressed with the fountain -the heavy grade of ceramic, and the ease of setting it up - however, one of my cats (the "engineer" in the group) quickly figured out how to slide off the top part of fountain, so water gets all over the floor. So fun for him! When I called Chewy Customer Svc to say I sadly needed to return it, the wonderful CSR (Tangela) laughed with me about my innovative cat, & told me they would refund the full amount + the amount for the extra filters I bought AND told me to donate the fountain to a local rescue group (which I know several in my town that would be so excited by this donation!) I LOVE Chewy!!!

  • Be Patient They Will Drink From It

One of our cats has Lower Urinary Tract Disease. Our vet said he wanted us to get a pet fountain so she would drink more. It took some time. My suggestion. Just put the base down and keep it filled with clean water. I placed mine right next to the water bowl they are using already. I let her see me put the water in. Most cats love to hear the water running. Next day or two put your pump in. Take your pump and slide the little control lever down to the lowest setting. You can raise it later if you want to but start slow. I leave mine on low. You want the water coming out slowly. I would let my cats see me pouring water in it. I even stuck my hand in it. I never removed any water bowls to make them use it nor would I. Love this product! … more
