I got this because one of my cats kept knocking over his water bowl. He definitely can't knock this over. It's pretty heavy and a really good size for a multi-cat home or a small to medium sized dog. The ceramic pieces are well made, though it did take me a while to figure out how it fits together. My biggest issue is with the quality of the pump. It feels really light and cheap and is kind of noisy for its size. I also hate that it is attached using really small suction cups to the bottom of the bowl. Once the bowl is completely full of water (don't run this pump when it is dry), you hardly hear it. If the pump were to fail, I would try to replace it with something a little more rugged, as I I got this because one of my cats kept knocking over his water bowl. He definitely can't knock this over. • You can lead a cat to water but you can't make him drink!

    By on

Bought this with the idea it would keep my cat from drinking out of the gutter. Since he seemed to like the moving water in the gutter I thought this might be just the thing since it has the bubbling fountain and ramp that the water runs down. The product itself is very nice, well made, easy to put together and the motor is quite. Which is why I gave it 4 stars Unfortunately my cat seems to be ignoring it. I placed it next to his water bowl but he walks right past it to his bowl. Since its right next to his bowl he doesn't seem frightened of it but so far haven't seen him drink from it. Well hope for the best.

  • My cats love it!

    By on

I just received it today and the cats are thrilled. My cats have always loved to play in water, so I knew it would be a hit. There is only one downside that I see, which is why I only gave 4 stars. My cats keep knocking the top part a bit off of the ledge that holds it. It just makes it tilt down a bit more. Really doesn't harm the way it works. I just wish it stayed in place better. My cats are being very heavy handed on it, though. I also wish the bottom had some type of rubber feet on it. I can just add those myself. Otherwise, it seems like it's going to be a great addition for my cats.

  • Very nice fountain

    By on

This is a really nice ceramic fountain, and I am very pleased with the purchase. I had been looking at a ceramic fountain that was much more expensive, but I'm glad I waited for this one at less than half the price! Now I just need to convince my two senior cats to use it! I've had it operating for 2 weeks now, and I haven't seen either cat drink from it. They seem interested in it from time to time, but they don't drink from it. Wondering if I need to remove the other water dish to encourage them to try the fountain?

  • Pioneer Pet Fountain

We bought the fountain so it was set up and ready to go when our Ragdoll kitten came to join our family. It was an immediate success. It has three choices for our little kitten: the bubbly fountain, the water running down from the fountain, and the still pool of water. Our kitten will use all three ways to get water. We have it set up away from his food by his cat tree. The bubbling sound it makes draws the kitten to it. The ceramic is easy to clean and it looks nice. I highly recommend this fountain.

  • So Far So Good

    By on

I'm not sure why so many people complained about putting this fountain together. I found it very easy to do and love it so far! My favorite part: that it's dishwasher safe! I've washed the two porcelain pieces on the bottom rack and the plastic container that holds the filter and pump on the top rack. My only complaint: that I have to untie the excess cord every time I take it apart since the cord feeds through the bowl. Other than that, I recommend giving this fountain a try.

  • To heavy and slimy

    By on

Bought this for my cat because I read ceramic was the best to buy.It is way to heavy.I thought it would be fine to clean once a week but if I waited that long there is slime on the motor cover and the fountain hole.It also didn't keep the water any cooler then the others I used.It may be okay for a dog who drinks plenty but I would not recommend for a cat.Had it for a couple months and as I went to clean it the fountain fell and cracked.Like I said heavy to handle

  • Nice Slow Steady Steam, no spills or splashing

I got the white ceramic version. The construction of the ceramic is nice and strong, might be consider heavy for some people. It is also aesthetically pleasing and the pump is quiet. The ceramic pieces just fit by putting one piece on top, the filter/pump unit needs some small adjustment to align the slow to top ceramic piece. You must check to not overfill the water pass where the top ceramic piece fits to bottom. My setup is that I keep a bowl of clean RO water as well as this fountain nearby. My cat does drink from it but also the normal bowl too. I just hope this helps her drink more water. • A Mixed Up Review

    By on

My cats (and a new kitten) have all used this fountain without any problems. However, it is somewhat heavy and a little awkward to clean and reassemble. We have the black and hard water minerals are impossible to remove so it's looks a little "shabby" even right after a thorough cleaning. For all that, it's a success in our house.

Item was delivered promply, and the two cats checked it out for an hour but now they are drinking from the fountain every day. This model is so much easier to keep clean looking!
