Description

This clumping original features clay particles that bond together when soiled, guaranteeing that only used clumps are tossed, along with the odors. This clumping formula creates solid clumps that don’t crumble or break when being scooped out. All usable litter remains in the box to keep litter changes and any extra dust to a minimum. Carefree, indeed.

Key Benefits

  • Formulated to neutralizes odors naturally without chemical additives or fragrances. Perfect for cats that are sensitive to fragrances or additives.
  • Perfect for households with multiple cats. Not only does this product have superior clumping but it also has low-tracking and low dust.
  • Premium choice litter contains the fewest additives possible and is all-natural, naturally.
  • The best formula is ironically the most basic – the purest clay and sodium bentonite available. This product is made with the purest clay and sodium bentonite available.
  • The clay is produced directly by Premium Choice. They mine, convert, package and deliver their own clay.

Cautions

If you are pregnant or have a suppressed immune system, you should know that a parasite sometimes found in cat feces can cause toxoplasmosis. Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat box filler. We don't recommend using Premium Choice Carefree Kitty as a traction aid, as this product will become slippery and slick when wet. Premium Choice Carefree Kitty is easy to use, but it's not flushable, so don't go dumping the clumps into your toilet or dispose of it outdoors in gutters or storm drains. Dispose of used litter in trash.

Instructions

Generally, about 3 inches of non-clumping clay litter, or 1 – 2 inches of scoopable litter should get the job done. Some say less, some say more. Only you and your cat will know the correct amount.

Remove solid, waste at least once per day and conventional, non-clumping and scoopable litters alike. Replace the entire contents of non-clumping clay weekly. And remember to replace the clumps you removed with fresh to keep the level up.

Litter lasts about 30 days under normal circumstances. If you have more cats, you'll probably want to replace your litter more frequently to better control odors. Your cat's reaction to the litter box is also a good indicator that it's time, so if Precious isn't going in it's time for the litter to go out.

Wash the litter box with soap and warm water and rinse well every time you change litter completely. Box liners are great for helping make litter box maintenance a bit more carefree.

Your cat may not like new litter, so go slow. Mix the new litter in with the old in a ratio of about 1/3 new to 2/3 old. Increase the new litter gradually until you have a total switch-over.

  • might be worst litter yet

I've tried many many litter types for my cats. I have a cat that just won't use any litter so thought I would go back to a traditional type cat litter and see if she would like this. First, this litter is very dusty. No matter how slowly to try to scoop it will have dust in your face. And the litter does clump. It clumps so much is pretty much has wrecked my litter boxes and I had to do some serious scrubbing of them to try to remove the caked up mess that no litter scoop or trying to dig will remove from the litter box. And the caking happens with every single wet visit to the box. And no odor control at all. Pretty much like the clay stuff from the 70's only with super miserable clumping I've tried many many litter types for my cats. • Worst scoping litter I've ever er used.

    By on

This was the first time using this brand. I wasn't able to scoop the urine clumps because they stuck to the bottom of the litter box. I ended up throwing out the litter box, contents and the rest of the litter. Ordered my previous brand.

  • The best clay litter!

    By on

This is the best clumping clay litter of all the brands I have tried. Not only is it convenient having it delivered and just as affordable as buying in store, it is very high quality. It clumps tightly and is easy to scoop.

  • love the fragrance free option!

Carefree Kitty litter clumps nicely for easy scooping. Ive got three cats and they all seem content with this product. I like that its fragrance free but still controls any litter odors. Would recommend this for any Cat parents that are concerned about extra chemicals.

  • Not bad but not for us

    By on

The only reason I did not like this product was because it was very dusty when filling up the litter boxes and cleaning them. I am pretty sure I got it on sale for $14 dollar which I was definitely willing to give it a try for 50lbs. My cats didn't seem to mind it and it was very fine like sand, I myself just couldn't stand the dust. Other than that, it was a good product; clumped well and was easy to clean.

  • Perfect size for a brand I've been using for years.

    By on

I am so glad this brand is made in a 25 lb. bag as I cannot lift 40 lbs. I've been using the brand for years and now I don't need any help with the bags.

  • Great litter

    By on

Premium Choice is the best litter I've found for my 2 cats. It doesn't smell, absorbs odors well, and clumps well. Unfortunately, my cats love to roll in it. But I guess that's their stamp of approval.

  • Average.

This one is better than Cat Attract! But it's still hard to scoop. So it makes cleaning time double. Also it's not completely dust-free. But, it's not the worse cat litter in the world.

  • An okay litter

    By on

I had previously ordered Tidy Cats 24/7 and was on my last box when I ordered this. It's an okay litter compared to some of the others. It was a bit weak on odor control and simply horrible with clumps. The "clumps" ended up crumbling when trying to scoop which made a bigger mess. The dust was minimal.

  • Finally, a Litter my Cat Likes!

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

My old guy (17 years) suddenly hated the litter we were using. So I switched back to the litter previous to that but he hated that too. My vet recommended this and finally my cay is using the box and not the floor again! Low tracking, great clumping, little odor, and no dust!
