  • Great for older Diabetic cats

    By on

Hey, My 14 year old cat is now a diabetic, and our vet recommended this as his dry food supplemented with a heavy protein wet food. He loves it! This is the best price I have found online for it. You will need to email over a prescription, but my vet made one out for me, with no issues.

  • Charley cat loves DM Purina Crunchies and they are keeping his teeth tarter free!

    By on

Charley who is almost 14 years old and diabetic just had his teeth cleaned. The vet said they are very strong and in good condition and thankfully, there was no need to remove any of them. However, since he has been on wet DM Purina food for several years, we thought that bringing back some of the "crunchies" that are also DM would work to keep his teeth in better condition. Charley would not be charmed with me trying to brush his teeth nightly, I can assure you so including some of the crispy DM would be a good answer. He is delighted to have the new food added and thus I am happy as well. Chewy filled my request and sent the food to me very quickly and with no shipping as I have been getting Charley who is almost 14 years old and diabetic just had his teeth cleaned. I tell anyone with a pet about Chewy and how very happy I am with the quality of the products and how well they handle getting it to me in good condition. I could not be more pleased. Besides Charley loves the protective boxes that slip over each case of food...they are a bit small for him, but he thinks that they couldn't be better! Thank you again, Chewy. … more

  • It works!

    By on

My elderly cat (16) suddenly became lethargic and my vet diagnosed him with diabetes. I had always fed my 2 (litter mate) cats a high quality dry food, but evidently dry doesn't have enough protein. This new food, although expensive, seems to be helping him. I do have to give him daily insulin injections, bu he is getting better and his blood sugar is lower. I am VERY happy as my "boys" are my family members - in addition to my 3 adult children.

  • Very low price, fast service

    By on

My cat is diabetic, and I've been feeding him "Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets DM Dietetic Management Formula Dry Cat Food" in the 10 pound bag for three years now. This food is expensive, and I wasn't able to get a better price, either at my vet or from my favorite online retailer. When I received an ad in the mail for Chewy, I couldn't believe the very low price! I saved nearly half, by combining a coupon, free 1-2 day shipping and setting up automatic shipments. Chewy even handled the prescription verification with my vet! The DM food is exactly what I have been feeding my cat, it's convenient and a great price from Chewy!

  • Great Food

    By on

I have five cats, and one of them is an insulin-dependent diabetic. He requires a special diet that is high in protein and low in carbohydrates. My five cats go thru a bag of this food in about two weeks. I was buying it at a local veterinary office and was very happy to find it on your website for less than I have been paying!

  • Its a little below average

Not sure if this food is helping my cat with his diabetes. He gets insulin shots every day recommended by his vet. He is still getting symptoms of high blood glucose such as extreme hunger, which I find weird. He hasn't gained any weight. I read on a forum somewhere that feeding diabetic cats dry food is no good because wet food has less carbs and other stuff that make the cats sugar go up. I am starting to believe that this is true. Plus, this bag is expensive and doesn't last me very long. I cant see myself paying 50 dollars every 2 months just to feed an animal..sorry to say. I will most likely invest in wet food next time around. I am satisfied with the chewy website overall because the Product Not sure if this food is helping my cat with his diabetes. • My diabetic cat loves this dry cat food

    By on

My 15 year old cat Ambrose really loves this food. He was diagnosed with diabetes over a year ago and must eat prescription food. If he could talk, he would give it an "A" plus rating.

  • Great tasting DM food

One of my cats is diabetic but the other one is not. So very thankful they both love this food. Makes our lives so much easier having just one food to feed both cats.

  • 15 yr. old Diabetic Cat Loves It

    By on

It's been 3 months and I have noticed change. My senior kitty has been battling Diabetes since he was 10 (on and off with remission). After insulin expenses and inconvenience, I turned to Purina Pro DM. He devours this! Once a day in conjunction with wet food, he has been noticeably shiny, more active for his age, and has not peed in the house. The next autoship will be in January so I hope that this review stays the same as time goes on. Expensive, but cheapest I could find it on Chewy.
