Description

Royal Canin Veterinary Care Nutrition Dental was specifically developed to provide optimal protein, energy and nutrient levels. This formula is uniquely designed to provide triple action dental care to help prevent the accumulation of plaque, tartar, gingivitis and halitosis.

Key Benefits

  • Brushing Effect - The texture and cube shape of the kibble produce a gentle abrasive effect on the teeth during chewing. This mechanical action provides a brushing effect to reduce accumulation of dental plaque.
  • Plaque and Tartar Control - Sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) binds salivary calcium making it unavailable for the formation of calculus, and a specific nutrient incorporated by ROYAL CANIN helps reduce dental plaque build-up.
  • S/O Index - This diet promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.
  • Complete and balanced dry cat food diet that provides precise nutrition for adult cats with dental issues.
  • Oral disease is the number one health problem diagnosed in cats and dogs; signs of dental problems in cats include bad breath, toothaches, loose or discolored teeth, tartar buildup, and constant licking or pawing at the mouth

Note: Royal Canin Veterinary Diets require a veterinary prescription. This product will not be shipped until a copy of a valid prescription authorization is faxed to 1-800-619-7973 or e-mailed to rx@chewy.com.

  • Royal Cabin Dental Diet for Cats

    By on

My vet recommended that I switch my two bengals to this product from the Blue Wilderness. My cats love it, and it helps keep the tarter build up in check! I keep their bowl filled as they free feed when they want to. Their weight remains perfect. I am very pleased with this product!

  • Great as a treat

    By on

Got a sample of this a while ago and gave to cats as treats and they loved it. Tried slowly switching our regular cat food to this and it didn't go well. Caused upset stomaches. Going to stick with it as daily treats. Since we started treating with these my one cat has had perfect dental checks with no extractions. Could be coincidence but for this price (cheapest I've found) this bag will turn out to be cheaper than almost every better quality treat out there.

  • Good oral care cat food

    By on

I was surprised that my cats love the Royal Canin Dental dry cat food. These kibble chunks are so large that they have to chew them. I've tried other oral care cat foods, but my large Maine Coons could swallow them whole. This one forces them to chew. I've only been using this kibble for a couple of weeks, and it'll take several months to determine whether there is improvement in my cats' gingivitis. So, far I'm optimistic because I can hear them happily breaking apart the kibble. I can't rate this product as excellent until I see that this kibble actually demonstrates an improvement

  • Great food for teeth and weight

    By on

I've been using this food for several years back up in Canada, and was very happy that Chewy carried it (along with a script from the vet). Royal Canin is good stuff!

  • My cats love this product

    By on

My male cat recently had his teeth cleaned and the dentist gave me a sample of Royal Canin Dental Dry Food. I gave my two cats a few as a treat and soon realized how much they loved it. I don't give it to them as their main dry food because of the size. It's a little hard for them to chew (which is the purpose to clean their teeth) but they will eat three or four after each meal.

  • Diet Dental cat food

    By on

My three adult cats were just switched to RC Diet Dental veterinary cat food to prevent urinary problems and also to help control Dental issues. They all are chowing down happily on it and I am loving it too.

  • Kitties like it!

    By on

We recently got a new kitten, female. We also have three adult males. For years we bought the Royal Canin Urinary SO for the boys. I asked my vet if the SO would be OK for the female kitten (when she gets older -but she eats it all anyway now) and she said yes, but suggested this Dental Food. I was hesitant at first as the Dental Food has large kibbles. But they all love it. My Vet feeds this to her kitties.

  • they like it! as treats!

    By on

my four boys each had a dental this year, all with extractions. my Vets recommend a dental dry food and gave me some RC as a sample. Turns out the boys like it as treats. and a couple of them like it as dry food as well.

  • By-product meal?

    By on

This was recommended by the veterinarian for dental care and my cats like it. But the words byproduct and meal indicate that it is not a pure protein.
