Description

Most pets have a small frame as compared to a human, and just a few extra pounds can have a dramatic effect on their life expectancy. Also, the extra weight can lead to other serious problems such as diabetes, heart disease, joint problems, skin irritations, and urinary tract disorders. A properly balanced, calorie controlled diet is essential for safe, efficient weight loss. Simply feeding less of the current diet may not provide enough essential nutrients, and may lead to deficiencies. An effective calorie restrictive diet should be low in fat, nutrient-rich, palatable, calorie restricted, and should satisfy your pet’s appetite. This diet has been specially formulated to assist weight loss and management of hunger between meals in the feline patient.

Key Benefits

  • Feline Satiety Support is a high fiber, high protein diet that has been formulated to promote weight loss in overweight or obese adult cats
  • Specially formulated as part of a veterinary supervised dietary management program
  • Contains essential fatty acids (Omega-3 and Omega-6) and trace elements (Copper and Zinc) to help support a healthy skin and coat
  • This diet contains a precise blend of soluble and insoluble fibers to promote satiety and reduce the spontaneous consumption of food
  • Royal Canin Urinary S/O Index® promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Satiety Support Dry Cat Food is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cured Chronic Diarrhea My 17-year-old Siamese is not overweight - in fact, he's underweight. However, he was suffering from chronic diarrhea. When nothing else worked, my vet suggested feeding him the Royal Canin Satiety food with the hope that its high fiber content would absorb fluids and slow down the movement of food through the digestive tract. Within a couple of days of starting the new food, the diarrhea stopped and he was passing solid stools, and has been in the month since he started eating it. Because he actually needs to gain weight, on my vet's advice, I add a tablespoon of coconut oil to a small bowl of the kibble for extra calories, and mix it up to coat the kibble. And my cat really seems to enjoy the food. So to anyone whose cat has chronic diarrhea which hasn't responded to the usual treatments, this seems to be a great off label use for this food. Of course, you'll want to discuss this with your cat's vet since the food does require a prescription anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised how our cats LOVE this product. This is our first experience with a prescription type cat food. Using this product has showed us that there is a vast difference in quality among dry cat food. Just looking at the product (visually and ingredient list) you can see that it is top quality product. Our prescription was for only one of our two cats.(Prescribed due to an overweight issue). Our challenge was that the other cat just loves the Royal Canin too! At first we just tried to keep the second cat away from the other cats food.bowl. Finally after talking with our vet, both cats now eat the Royal Canin product. Neither cat has any interest in eating the other prior cat food. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product from Royal Canin. We also want to mention how pleased we were with CHEWY.COM. OUR ORDER WAS DELIVERED THE NEXT DAY! Customer service was excellent and very knowledgeable. We hope to have a longtime relationship with Royal Canin and CHEWY ! THANKS FOR THE.EXCELLENT SERVICE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It really helps with the weight problems. Our male cat, Buddy, has a condition which causes his bones to break easily. After both kneecaps broke he was no longer able to jump so he became something of a lump. Our vet put him on Royal Canin Satiety food to, hopefully, lower his weight. Buddy's weight began at 13.5 pounds and after about 6 months, his weight is down to 12.4. If you have a pudgy cat, you may want to speak with your vet about this product. It's really great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Low Fat Goodness My Vet put my cats on a low fat diet and I was worried it wouldn't be an easy transition. I gave them a sample bowl of Royal Canin Satiety Formula alongside their regular food and they ate all of the low fat food and begged for more. Now, a month later it turns out they love the low fat diet and the pancreatic problems have subsided.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fat cat in love My overweight tabby, Max, has been told by vet that he needs to shed some pounds. Vet recommended this food and approved the order through Chewy. Max loves it and wants more every time we give him some. My little black cat who doesn't need to lose weight loves it too and keeps trying to steal some.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prescription cat food This prescription cat food is expensive and you sell it for much less with free shipping. Plus I like the bigger size. It was really easy to get this approved by my vet so I could start ordering from you. The customer service is top notch. I will continue to order my cats food from you from now on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this product My vet suggested trying this food for my cat since he is a bit overweight - he was 15 pounds at his last checkup 6 months ago but currently 13.75 lbs so already down 1.25 lbs! I had tried scheduled feedings before to keep him from eating so much but it just doesn't seem to work for him, he would scarf down the food so fast and then end up throwing it up, or would wake me up in the middle of the night because he didn't want to wait for his food. I can leave this food out all the time and he has lost weight - this product has been a lifesaver for me! Very very happy and would recommend anyone that struggles keeping their indoor cats at a healthy weight. Also I ordered the food and received it the very next day!
