Description

Most pets have a small frame as compared to a human, and just a few extra pounds can have a dramatic effect on their life expectancy. Also, the extra weight can lead to other serious problems such as diabetes, heart disease, joint problems, skin irritations, and urinary tract disorders. A properly balanced, calorie controlled diet is essential for safe, efficient weight loss. Simply feeding less of the current diet may not provide enough essential nutrients, and may lead to deficiencies. An effective calorie restrictive diet should be low in fat, nutrient-rich, palatable, calorie restricted, and should satisfy your pet’s appetite. This diet has been specially formulated to assist weight loss and management of hunger between meals in the feline patient.

Key Benefits

  • Feline Satiety Support is a high fiber, high protein diet that has been formulated to promote weight loss in overweight or obese adult cats
  • Specially formulated as part of a veterinary supervised dietary management program
  • Contains essential fatty acids (Omega-3 and Omega-6) and trace elements (Copper and Zinc) to help support a healthy skin and coat
  • This diet contains a precise blend of soluble and insoluble fibers to promote satiety and reduce the spontaneous consumption of food
  • Royal Canin Urinary S/O Index® promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals

  • It really helps with the weight problems.

    By on

Our male cat, Buddy, has a condition which causes his bones to break easily. After both kneecaps broke he was no longer able to jump so he became something of a lump. Our vet put him on Royal Canin Satiety food to, hopefully, lower his weight. Buddy's weight began at 13.5 pounds and after about 6 months, his weight is down to 12.4. If you have a pudgy cat, you may want to speak with your vet about this product. It's really great.

  • Prescription cat food

    By on

This prescription cat food is expensive and you sell it for much less with free shipping. Plus I like the bigger size. It was really easy to get this approved by my vet so I could start ordering from you. The customer service is top notch. I will continue to order my cats food from you from now on.

  • Fat cat in love

    By on

My overweight tabby, Max, has been told by vet that he needs to shed some pounds. Vet recommended this food and approved the order through Chewy. Max loves it and wants more every time we give him some. My little black cat who doesn't need to lose weight loves it too and keeps trying to steal some.

  • Cured Chronic Diarrhea

    By on

My 17-year-old Siamese is not overweight - in fact, he's underweight. However, he was suffering from chronic diarrhea. When nothing else worked, my vet suggested feeding him the Royal Canin Satiety food with the hope that its high fiber content would absorb fluids and slow down the movement of food through the digestive tract. Within a couple of days of starting the new food, the diarrhea stopped and he was passing solid stools, and has been in the month since he started eating it. Because he actually needs to gain weight, on my vet's advice, I add a tablespoon of coconut oil to a small bowl of the kibble for extra calories, and mix it up to coat the kibble. Of course, you'll want to discuss this with your cat's vet since the food does require a prescription anyway. … more

  • Low Fat Goodness

    By on

My Vet put my cats on a low fat diet and I was worried it wouldn't be an easy transition. I gave them a sample bowl of Royal Canin Satiety Formula alongside their regular food and they ate all of the low fat food and begged for more. Now, a month later it turns out they love the low fat diet and the pancreatic problems have subsided.

  • Great Diet Cat Food

    By on

I love this food & so does my cat! Mack is very active, but now that he us getting older, he easily puts on weight. Using Royal Canin Satiety helped him safely reduce from 19+ pounds to 16pounds (his ideal weight) in about 3 months. He loves this food and it fills him up so there is no begging or stealing the other cat's food. Now that he is at 16 pounds, I use the Satiety for a portion of his daily meals to maintain his good weight. A very happy cat!

  • Bummed. Not for mature cats.

    By on

I have a 13yo female cat who is in great health except for her weight. I saw all the great reviews for this food and was so hopeful I had found something to help her loose weight. But she wasn't able to chew the food, it was really hard, we could just barely cut it ourselves. And we checked the expiration date, it was still good. So after about a week of being fine and loving the food she was throwing it up all the time. We had to switch her to some wet food especially for sensitive tummies temporarily. She is back on her old dry food and back to normal. I'm sure this works better for younger cats but I wouldn't recommend it for mature cats.

  • Pleasantly surprised how our cats LOVE this product.

This is our first experience with a prescription type cat food. Using this product has showed us that there is a vast difference in quality among dry cat food. Just looking at the product (visually and ingredient list) you can see that it is top quality product. Our prescription was for only one of our two cats.(Prescribed due to an overweight issue). Our challenge was that the other cat just loves the Royal Canin too! At first we just tried to keep the second cat away from the other cats food.bowl. Finally after talking with our vet, both cats now eat the Royal Canin product. Neither cat has any interest in eating the other prior cat food. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product from Royal Canin This is our first experience with a prescription type cat food.
