  • chewy is awesome!

    By on

After reading other chewy reviews I decided to place an order for the Royal Canin SO Rx cat food for my 2 cats since I could no longer purchase from our vet office. It was very simple and easy as chewy did all the work with contacting my cats Vet, getting the prescription by phone and fax, and it was delivered to my door in 2 days......have never had that fast a delivery before, and the great thing is, the delivery was free! The food cost less than I paid at the vet's office, so it's a win win all the way around and the best part is.....I now can get regular per-determined orders automatically....5 star rating at this point in time!!!!!!!

  • so far so good

I'm buying this food because it was prescribed by the vet for my 18 month old cat who has urinary problems. So far he seems to be doing well on it, with no negative side effects. He does seem to make more frequent trips to the litter box but at least he is no longer using odd places all over the house to pee. And he loves the food. It is expensive but it's less expensive from Chewy.com than from any other places I've found it, including from my vet. And ordering it couldn't have been much easier. Because it's prescription, they had to contact my vet. And since I ordered right before Christmas I fully expected it to take several days just to get the prescription verified. • Urinary Crystal Buster

My 3 yr old male kitty has had to have 2 surgery's and was cathed 5 times because of urinary crystals. He has been on this food for a few weeks now and it has helped, his ph is now closer to normal at 6.5 to dissolve any crystals that try to form. If your kitty has trouble voiding making, multiple trips to the box, take action fast, I wish I had put him on this food quicker, it would have saved him much suffering and me thousands in vet bills. Get your vet to prescribe. My cat will eat this food, as he refuses the wet vet diet food. Can version of this would be best but he won't eat it, but thank God he will eat this one. I truly beleive if I had started my furbaby on this food after his first cath for blockage he would not have needed the surgerys or all those other caths. At the time my vet although he's been great did not prescribe the food at the start of his troubles. … more

  • So affordable

I was paying nearly twice this amount before i found chewy - you guys have saved my life, and my budget!! My little one, franko, nearly died a year ago, but he pulled through just fine. His vet recommended this food to him and he's been thriving ever since. My other two babies also love it and prefer it over their other food (but we don't usually feed it to them since it's still quite pricy) the quality must be amazing, as well as the taste though, since franko is always so eager to have some during his meal time:D yay good cat food!!!!

  • really outstanding food, highly recommend

I got my male cat from a shelter in the Phoenix area in July 2016 and after a week had to take him to a vet due to blockage in his urethra, poor fellow was dying. Vet unblocked him and recommended this food and provided a prescription for it. I have held back on adding a review on this food for a year and a half as I wanted to fully evaluate his health before writing a review. My Buster has been doing fantastic ever since he started eating it. I have been giving him this dry cat food along with the same name brand Urinary SO wet food. He eats like a horse and loves both. I tried giving him a piece of chicken recently to test him out on "people food" and he just sniffed it and walked away. I had to put down another male cat of mine years ago because of the blocked urethra issue. Stupid me...I had fed him the garbage adult dry cat food from Walmart and that caused his blockage. I wish I would have known about this food and the male specific urethra blockage problem, still miss him!! Note though that you need to have a prescription from a vet before you can buy this. It should not be like this and people should be able to buy this if they need it. ALL male cats need to be eating this!! … more

  • A happy cat

    By on

My cat was on the CD for urinary for a while. Then one day the cat started throwing up after he ate. This continued. I tried dividing up small amounts during his feeding, thinking he was eating to fast. I tried feeding him 3-4 times a day instead of twice a day,Did not work. Some days he would not eat at all. Talked to the vet they said to worm him. That did not work. I asked if we could change foods to royal canin and it was all over. He eats now and has not once throwed up. Made a very big difference.

  • Great food

I have been ordering from chewy for the last two months and I absolutely love it. This food was prescribed by my vet for my 3 year old male cat who was having urinary issues. He absolutely loves the food and the SO treats. I love how chewy saves the doctors prescription so that they don’t have to contact the doctor every single time you order like petco does. Thanks chewy!

  • my cat eats it, so it must be good

In spite of the smell of this food which does not appeal to me, my big male cat who has had surgery due to blockage, likes this food. I questioned the dry vs. the canned (which he wouldn't eat) because of water content which they need when they have this problem and was told that this food somehow encourages them to drink more. It seems to be true since now I provide 2 water bowls to 1 container of food.

  • Required food

My vet changed my cat to this food after he almost died due to crystals in his urine causing a blockage. It was so scary and I am so glad he pulled through. I used this food because my vet told me to but unsure how great it is. I am just glad it seems to be working for my cat. My other cats switched to it pretty easily, except for 1. 1 out of my 5 cats needs to eat kibble separately now. She doesn't like it.
