Description

Lower urinary tract disease (LUTD) refers to a group of disorders that commonly leads to irritation of the urinary tract and corresponding undesirable clinical signs. What causes Lower Urinary Tract Disease? In cats, bacterial infections are far less common. Urinary crystals and stones are often linked to this disease. The most common cause of Lower Urinary Tract Disease in cats is idiopathic cystitis. This diet promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

Key Benefits

  • Feline Urinary SO Moderate Calorie is a highly digestible, palatable, complete and balanced adult cat food recommended for cats at risk of developing lower urinary tract disease and who are predisposed to weight gain
  • Royal Canin Urinary SO Index® promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals
  • Moderate calorie content supports healthy weight

Rated 5 out of 5 by been buying this for many years My male cat who was 4yrs at the time had crystals ONCE and that was one too many times. he was in such pain, couldnt pee, blood coming out and it happened on a Friday night when our vet office wasn't open so I had to take him to the VET ER. $1200 dollars later for a Friday-Sunday weekend admit on IVs and meds!! my Giovanni was brought to our vet on the Monday after the weekend and he put Gio on this urinary food for life. I go back and forth from canned and dry and he has never had any more problems with crystal. I know that there is a lot of comments on other sites that say no dry food at all and regular canned food works also but when Gio never had anymore crystals since on this food that I tend to take those comments lightly. (Giovanni is now almost 11 years!) This is the first order that I purchased the moderate calorie and he seems to like this more, not sure if its because it really does taste better or he just wanted a change. when there is a $1200 weekend vet bill I say paying more for special food is so worth not having to go through that again. Rated 5 out of 5 by Cat with urinary tract problem This cat food is by prescription. But Chewy.com took care of getting it from the vet. Now I don't have to go to the vet's office to get it! It's delivered to my door! Thanks Chewy.com! January 17, 2017
Rated 4 out of 5 by This product is cheaper online than at the vets office. Expensive food but when it comes to the love of a pet it's worth it to buy the best for their health. I'm just glad this food is several dollars cheaper online and now it gets auto delivered every six weeks so I don't have to worry about driving to the vets office to get it anymore. One less errand for me to run! January 16, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best food ever so recommend This food has saved my cats life I am so thankful that People told me to get it and try it my cats are loving it it will help them stay out of the hospital with a urinary cloggage thx to all who helped me out . January 12, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by This worked beautifully in healing my cat's urinary stones. My cat was in pain, and bleeding upon urination. We took her to the vet, and she had stones in her urinary tract. We were told to feed her this specific food, and the stones would disintegrate. So, that's what we did. My cat had absolutely no problem changing to this food. And, we haven't had an issue since.Moo January 6, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quick Service My order arrived in less than two days and that was over the Christmas holiday. Very convenient and less expensive than the pet store. I will definitely use this company again. In fact it was recommended to me by my vet. January 3, 2017

Rated 4 out of 5 by My cat with a bladder stone likes it My vet prescribed it to try to shrink/get rid of a bladder stone that my 2 year old male cat has. It's helping and the cat really likes it. 4 stars because it's a little on the expensive side. January 2, 2017
