I have a small cat who I have spent hundreds of $$$ in vet bills. 'Lilly' was diagnosed with allergies, upper respiratory issues, she stopped eating, and developed horrid diareaha. She lost weight down to 3 pounds. This food was recommended by one of the vets. I tried it and it's a miracle. I use baby simply saline for her sinus issues and she started eating this food. It cleared up her diareaha issues and she's almost back up to 5 pounds. She's active and playful and better than ever. The price of this prescription food with Chewy is almost $.50/can cheaper than from the vet office. Looking forward to a long playful life with Lilly.

  • Terrible.....cat would not eat!

    By on

We first had the medium energy Gastrointerstinal Cat Food and it was morsels in gravy. Our cat loved it. Then the vet told us to order this - the High Energy HE Canned Cat Food. It is "in gel" and a mushy type food. Our cat won't touch it and I've tried everything to get her to eat it. Now we have a whole case of cat food that our cat won't eat. Why can't the high energy food be made the say way the medium energy food is made?

  • can food

My female cat does not eat this. Maybe she does not like its taste. I wanted to return, but I could not because I opened 1 can. The can food is too hard and dry, not soft. I think that is one of reasons cat does not eat this can food.

  • keeping wobbly Weeble healthy

prescribed by vet for my adopted CHcat who almost died when he was bought to a sanctuary in horrible shape and had to be spoon fed at first. Need to blend with Friskies salmon pate to coax him, food was blended to a liquid for spoon feeding but now it is his "salmon mouse"So far is keeping the weight on(8 lb) with no GI problems.Worth the extra cost.

  • My cats love this!

This food was prescribed by my vet for an older cat who is having intestinal issues. He is hungry all the time and is losing weight. He loves this food! It's too early to tell whether he's regained any weight, but at least he's eating this. He loves it!

  • Product kept our cats from near-daily throwing-up

    By on

Our two long-haired cats are 13 years old. For many months they had been throwing up hair balls every day or so. We tried various remedies, as our vet suggested. She finally had us try different food -- yours. It worked, like magic, right away. We are grateful, and if the cats could speak, they would be eloquent in their gratitude!

  • My cat may need special diet, but she will not touch this for any reason.

    By on

After having pancreatitis, age 17 years old, this was prescribed by the Vet. for my cat. The gastrointestinal HE canned and dry food. The dry food she will sort of eat but the canned food she totally refuses. Also, the smell is very disagreeable when you open can. It seems very dry. Even adding water to it, she will not touch it. The package came in good time and no problem with ordering with prescription. Unfortunately, several cans were really damaged but not leaking. They were discarded. I will be donating all of the remaining to a no kill rescue.

    By on

My 22 yr old cat, who is quite picky actually ate this food after my vet recommended it, and it actually worked. She was have smelly diarrhea and this food really helped her get back on GI tract. Have not had GI problems since. The only thing I did not like was that it made a breath stink hard core.
