Rated 5 out of 5 by Diane68 Is not too dry and seems to keep my cat's stomach settled.
Had to put my cat on this for health reasons. She liked this kind much better than Science Diet. So far have had no problems with her eating it.

Our cat with kidney disease stopped eating his kidney food so then we changed to fancy feast. The vet said more important that he eats. He is losing weight so she suggested Royal GI HE. It is dry like the kidney food which results in smaller outputs. We are just glad he is willing to eat it. It's only been a few weeks so we'll get him weighed next month to see if it is helping with the weight loss.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Glory2002 Great for cat with IBD
After 2 disastrous tries with other foods specifically for IBD that caused horrific flares, diarrhea, and extreme weight loss, plus a 2-day stay with the vet to get things calmed down, my cat is now on this diet alternating with homemade cat food designed for cats with IBD and is finally recovering. Thanks, Royal Canin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by troublesniffer Excellent Rx product: "Very tasty" according to our Cats
When a cat needs an Rx diet for a medical condition, there are times when some cats will refuse to eat it. The Gastrointestinal High Energy food was rated extremely high by our two kitties who need it at this time.
We are very happy with this product and most of all that our cats are too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by linda490 I highly recommend Royal Canin Vet Diet High Energy canned cat food.
I highly recommend this Royal Canin Vet Diet High Energy canned cat food. My cat was quite thin, and feeding this product (on demand) brought her back to health. She is now a happy, playful kitty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Meowtwo Needs gravy!
My 14 year old cat has serious inflammatory bowel disease. My vet recommended this as our last food option (we have pretty much tried every specialty product on the market over the years). He will eat the dry version but not the canned. I have tried every trick that has ever worked before with him including adding water, vegetable broth, and juice from canned tuna, but no luck. I wish the company offered a version of this with gravy as this is his strong preference. The good news is that his diarrhea resolved rapidly on the dry food, but I worry about his kidneys without a canned food component to his diet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jennyj No gravy review - just add water
Someone mentioned it needs gravy. My cat also loves gravy and I mix in water and my cat devours it. If no water is mixed in, he'll lick the moisture off and walk away.

One of our cats was rejecting all cat foods, either by choice or his body rejected it after he had tried it. I had feared the worst, that we were losing him, because he had become nearly a skeleton and was losing everything we fed him. Our vet had prescribed antibiotics to no avail, and finally recommended we try this. Within a month, our skeletal baby had made a turnaround, was neither vomiting nor diarrheal, and began the slow road to recovery. After 2 months, he had gained more weight, his coat began to shine, he was grooming himself, and was nearly back to normal. This food is the reason he survived. He has energy again, and made a beautiful recovery. We'll never go back to lesser brands. His brother is also eating it and loving it. We couldn't be happier!
