This is a prescription food. [Just put it in your order. Chewy will ask for your vet's contact information, get the approval they need and ship your order without a hitch.] We normally get the dry version of this food as I am not a big fan of feeding wet food. However, our most senior cat was not eating well so we ordered the canned. Once she got the canned, she realized she was hungry! We started her on small portions as her tummy was in a bad state for not eating well for a while. She kept the food down so we began increasing the portion as her stomach stretched a bit. In just three weeks, she has regained 1/2lb of the 1.25lbs she had lost. The cat is happy, we're happy and the vet is This is a prescription food. [Just put it in your order. This food is easily digested; comes as small-ish bits in some gravy. I mashed it up for our senior feline. The younger-senior in our home eats it as it comes out of can. … more

  • Cats love this & WAY cheaper than Vet. charges!

    By on

I had no idea I could purchase this Veterinarian prescribed food from anywhere other than the Vet. himself; am SO glad that Chewy sells this AND for much cheaper than when buying from the Vet. Save myself a trip to the Vet. AND $$$! My cat suffers with a very sensitive tummy so this food (wet & dry) was prescribed. I had assumed this would have a somewhat bland taste and might not appeal to my cat. Well, he LOVES it, gobbles every bit of it as soon as it is in his bowl. I add water to it, as is a bit thick in consistency and am trying to get more water into my cat, as he also suffers from constipation. My other cat loves it, too, and the Vet. said it is fine for both cats to eat. • Good cat food - excellent customer service

    By on

This is the only cat food my cat can eat. My veterinarian ran out of it and could not get any soon enough. I ordered it from Chewy and spoke with two customer services angels who went out of their way to be sure I received it before my cat ran out of food. I can't say enough good things about the help I received. Needless to say, the food itself is marvelous.

  • Severe Digestion Problems

    By on

Our young tabby came to us last fall with severe digestion problems. When everything we tried failed, the Vet put him on Royal Canin's Gastrointestinal Moderate Calorie cat food. He loves the food, and his digestion problems seem to be resolving themselves. He has only one complaint, that can is just a mite too small!

  • Stinky and delicious, easy for an upset tummy

    By on

This is a GREAT product, but if you're looking at this then you already know that -- especially since you need a prescription for it. This cat food is stinky, chunky, and soft in kitty's mouth and gentle in her tummy. Chewy's prices ARE SO MUCH BETTER than any vet, hands down.

  • Worth the vet phone call

    By on

My cat wanted a wet cat food and loved the gravy; however, Purina and Frisky brands were not treating her gut very well. I give her half a can of Veterinary Diet Royal Canin morning and night, and she looks forward to eating this gravy-filled delight.

  • Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gastroitestial Moderate Calorie Canned Cat Food

Sadly my cat refused to eat this. Took one smell and walked away. He loves the dry food and I was disappointed he wouldn't eat the wet. I like to give him small amounts of wet food for variety.

  • Great service

    By on

Great service. The food was on its way as soon as we ordered it. A little confusing as it started out by Fed Ex but wound up at our post office. Now I know that will happen, it isn't a big deal.

  • Great service, great prices

    By on

My vet recommended this prescription food for my cat's digestive problems. It's on the pricey side, but the cost was much less when I ordered it from Chewy.com. My order arrived the day after I ordered it. I'm very satisfied with the prices and the service.
