Description

Grooming is an essential part of keeping your pet clean and healthy. Coastal Pet Products offers a full selection of Safari grooming tools that make this task quick and easy. One product that is essential for every household with pets is a flea comb. This comb can be used to make sure flea control products are working properly. In addition, the closely spaced teeth on a flea comb allow you to examine the overall condition of the coat. Dry skin that may appear after bathing is easily detected when using this flea comb. For pets with skin afflictions, dried blood collected in the fine teeth of this comb will alert your customer that their pet may have a rash, sore or other problem.

Instructions

  • Before using, groom your cat with a Safari cat comb or brush to remove mats and tangles that could damage the teeth of the flea comb. If needed, apply flea treatment before combing.

  • Comb your cat slowly, periodically checking the teeth of the comb for fleas or debris. Pay particular attention to areas around the ears, nape of neck and base of tail. Between strokes, dip the cat flea comb into a cup of water with mild detergent to kill the fleas left on the comb.

  • Best I've found in 10 years of searching.

Years ago I got the perfect flea comb, I don't remember where. It had a curved shape to fit my hand, fine-spaced teeth, and allowed me to drag the fleas from the teeth to crush against the plastic handle. But they do wear out and the teeth fall out. New ones I bought were so heavy and straight they didn't work well on the cats, and teeth fell out really fast. This one is almost as good a shape as the old one, and the teeth seem to be well attached so far. It is harder to use because there is a flat edge next to the teeth vs older more costly one had a smooth edge. So the fleas can hang on to the teeth better, harder to drag them out. This is why it is a 4, not a 5. But most of the Years ago I got the perfect flea comb, I don't remember where. • Really gets the fleas

I love this flea comb because it really works and gets even the tiny fleas. I just bought a second one. You have to be quick though because some fleas will try to jump from the comb. I always have a bowl of soapy water standing by.

  • Secondary use

    By on

I don't use these flea combs for fleas. But rather as a way to groom my 5 cats. It works great as a way to keep coats shiney and loose fur at a minimum. It also helps to keep down incidents of regurgitated fur balls.

  • FLEATASTIC

It works wonders and my furbabies love being combed. I comb both with the fur and the opposite direction, each time dipping the comb in light detergent warm water. They are purrfectly agreeable with this process. Not only do you remove any fleas but their fur is totally cleaned, like you bathed them. They have really enjoyed the results of this comb. When combing them be sure to have them on a white pillow case or towel so that you can see any fleas that try to flee. The idea is that with each combing dip the comb back in the water then pull out any fur/fleas and the dip again and then comb. I love this product!
