Open a can of this and you get a hard lump of shredded "chicken." It is extremely difficult to break up this processed mass and apparently my cats' stomachs agree. It is also flavored with tuna oil -- something I didn't expect. I buy all-chicken food for my male cat because he is allergic to fish, so of course he puked up every bite. I've tried Tiki cat in the past and I thought it was overrated. It hasn't changed.

Both my cats are finicky eaters, so one likes it with a little mix of her usual can food, while the other needs more of her usual food. They're getting used to it and I like knowing they are getting better quality protein and nutrients in their diet.

Great ingredients wrong cats. My 3 spoiled cats
said poo you and walked away. High protein and low
carb great for cats diet and grain free. Problem they
Prefer pate not shred, like turkey better so I continue
To buy beyond grain free, not crazy about purina
but my cats eat it. I will continue to look for quality
and made USA not Thailand. Meanwhile I donated
the cans to Petco shelter. Of course no fish too much
chemicals bad UTI problems.

I choose to feed my cat Puka Puka Luau because of the quality and simplicity of the product. What you see is what you get when you open the can: shredded chicken (real shredded chicken, not chicken meal pressed into shredded shapes) in broth. It is very low odor and the ratio of chicken to broth is very good.
Since my cat is on a diet, I prefer the bulk of his calories to come from protein, not carbs. Tikipets list the Puka Puka Luau as having zero carb content, low fat, and very high protein. The price is actually economical for me since I base my cat's diet on calories/oz. I can actually buy less cans since Puka Puka Luau has the highest calorie content/oz compared to chicken formulas of other cat food brands. My cat actually doesn't like plain chicken, so I mix this formula with a little bit of Tiki Cat's Hawaiian Grill to make him more interested.

I have three cats who love this food! My cat will not eat it as she is quite finicky. For cats like mine with urinary issues this is a great choice, very low ash content 1.0 %. High ash levels cause urinary issues in cats. The only problem with this food is that it is way too expensive. My cat eats Royal Canin urinary s/o which is also expensive and has poor ingredients in it. Having said that it's the only thing that I can get her to eat right now.

Excellent food for picky cats. This food is loved by all cats in the house. Very meaty with lots of juice. Thailand has very strict regulations on pet food so this is a company that can be trusted with your cats health and well being.
