  • These are awesome!

We have three indoor cats and also care for over a dozen outdoor strays, most of which have various health issues. I bought these mainly for the strays since many of them have immune system issues, but started giving them to our indoor cats as well (who were originally strays or kittens of prior strays). Since I only started them on these, I don't know yet how much they will help, though a lysine supplement is the primary recommendation for our babies issues. I was concerned as to how to administer a lysine supplement since we have so many to care for and many of the strays still don't let us touch them yet, so I thought these treats were perfect. • Neither of my cats will eat these as treats.

    By on

I have tried repeatedly to give both my kitties these treats...cause my male really needs lysine and the vet suggested a lower dose for my female. However neither will eat them. I tried chopping them into small pieces & adding it to food, but they end eating the food and leaving the majority of the pieces. I tried to pulverize them and add them to their moist food, spreading it over their dry and their moist too. Depending on what I put the mashed up treats in...they may not eat it at all or may eat some. I am still trying though...hoping to find a wet food that masks the taste some more. I gave this 3 stars because I think it is probably a good product...every cat is different. Just wanted to find a treat where they would get a little more lysine at one time, so I wouldn't have to add smaller amounts of lysine to several wet food meals. It has a salty taste so you can't put too much in or they won't eat any of their food. One good thing, if I can't use something I order with my cats I can take it to the kitties at the Mewtopia Cat Rescue where I volunteer some....so it never goes to waste. … more

  • Saved expensive visits to the vet

    By on Top 500 Contributor

Our dog sitter recommended that we try Lysine for our long haired indoor/outdoor cat. Every year around mid-September, he gets a rash that quickly turns into a large, puss oozing wound. Last year, we spent a fortune at the vet for laser treatments and antibiotics. It was so bad the first year that he got the rash, the vet actually thought he got bit by a rabid animal and we had to quarantine him at home. Last year we finally got the vet to agree that this a is seasonal reaction to something. This year when a small spot started, we immediately started giving him these Lysine chews. What a difference!!! He cleared right up and no vet visit or invasive treatments needed. Highly recommend.

  • My cats like this product.....but.....

    By on

My cats like this product, but I have reservations about it due to one ingredient, Canola -- which I have read is not good for people to eat and I doubt whether it would be good for animals either. We avoid products with Canola -- it is cheap oil and found in mostly snack products -- but I just don't want my cats to ingest it. I think manufactures should be in "the know" more than they are -- and really make supposed health products, well, healthy through the and through. Unless they replace the Canola with a health oil, I won't be buying it again. Cats only live so long and I want my cats to live a long time and do not want to compromise them.

  • VetriScience Cat Chews

    By on

I seriously haven't seen such a positive drastic change in my life. I would recomend these chews to anyone with cats. My 2 cats won't eat them by themselves, but I mix them in with their daily 1/2 can of wet can food and they eat them all just fine. My older female was constantly having allergy attacks to anything and everything and her coat was starting to dull out because of it. 3 weeks on these vitamins and her coat is stunning and full and she has had next to none allergic reactions!

  • Excellent supplement

    By on

My very picky cat was having some ongoing issues with her eye. I have difficulty finding supplements that she will eat. She seemed to like this one, although I had to break it up into some smaller pieces for her. After about 2 months of daily use (4 treats/day) her eye has improved. My dad is a veterinarian and I recommended these to him for cats that could benefit from Lysine supplementation.

  • Just a little something extra

    By on

My cat has feline herpes so finding a treat with lysine he will actually take has been a struggle. Ive been using enisyl but wanted to give these a shot cause they are most cost effective! My cat did not like the taste, which was a struggle at first, but I broke them up into smaller pieces and sprinkled a little catnip over them, now he loves them! He hasnt been on them long enough for me to notice any results, but if they work well I will definitely buy again.

  • Helps respiratory issues

    By on

I purchased this for the feral cats that I take care of. A few of them began sneezing randomly. I started the Lysine and after a couple days, they have stopped the sneezing. Could have been just a change in the seasons, but I'm not sure. In any case, I continue to give it to them. They take it like its a treat most times. Sometimes I put it in their food.

  • Cat's favorite Lysine product

    By on

Have tried several Lysine products and would definitely say that this is my cat's favorite and the easiest for me to give. I use them as treats. I alternate this product with Vetoquinol Viralys (L-Lysine) Oral Gel for Cats and it keeps the appeal and novelty of the treats fresh. This was very effective in helping a flare up of a reverse sneezing issue. Started seeing noticeable improvement in 2 days. Will definitely keep buying.
