Rated 4 out of 5 by MY TWO CATS LOVE THIS CHICKEN AND HERRING Wellness makes a good canned food for cats. I would buy it much more often if they would remove the carrageenan. My cats especially love their canned chicken. I just gave them the chicken and herring and they really loved it. They ate it right away and wanted more. It is a high calorie food, 189 calories in a 5.5 oz. can. I only give them fish once a week or ten days. Fish is not a natural food for them. They originated in no. Africa where water sources are rare and cats get their water from the prey animals which are about 70% water. So they do not drink much water and should not be fed much dry food. Only 20% or so. I just emailed Wellness to make sure they do not source any ingredients from China, including vitamines and minerals which a lot of companies do. I also asked them if they use cans with BPA. Both carrageenan and BPA in cans are thought to be possible causes of cancer. I hope more and more of us will go on companies web sites find their e-mail addresses and ask questions. Quite often the 5.5 oz cans are free of BPA while the larger cans do. The larger cans are of course a better price. September 9, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by good overall / very wet/fresh over all was good but I feed a feral colony and only about 1/2 of them really liked this product/flavor September 28, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by cats dont care for it my two cats will eat this eventually if they get hungry enough but they really dont care for it September 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by A touchdown for my two picky cats This food is great. My cats are on a grain free diet, and prefer fish as the main flavor. Due to vet recommendation (try a mixed flavor of fish and something else) I decided to try Chicken and Herring. They both loved it! Their coats are nicer (less shedding, less dandruff) and they seem to fill up on less of this food as compared to the brand they used to get. September 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Overall, best canned cat food for my 4 cats Let's face it, cats can be picky eaters. What appeals to one cat may not appeal to another. That said, I have 4 cats (two seniors, and two 1-2 year olds) and after a lot of trial-and-error, Wellness canned cat food has turned out to be the winner for me. (Their diet is split between this and Taste Of The Wild dry kibble.) There were a couple of other winners in the taste-off, but other companies' grain-free product did not come in the large cans, and so were not economical for me. (One important note: I do have one cat who semi-regularly vomited her meals over many years, and after I did a little research I tried eliminating all 'beef' varieties from her diet, and the vomiting has completely stopped. I've had cats for over 30 years and was unaware that beef is a common allergen for cats. Now, I just stick with the Chicken/Herring formula, which is the consensus winner for all my cats.) Rated 5 out of 5 by My cat was wasting away on a special kidney diet... My cat was wasting away on a vet recommended diet for early kidney failure. I watched his muscle mass slowly disappear. He always had bowel trouble and ate canned pumpkin to help but it became worse on the kidney stuff. He started having other problems and the amount of meds was ridiculous. I read a post on an animal board that recommended looking into wasting on a protein free diet (which is the kidney stuff). It recommended getting grain free protein. Without checking with the vet I decided to take a chance and stopped all meds and put my cat on this food. I did this for 4 months then took my cat in to the vet and explained everything. My vet had not heard of this food and was thrilled with my cats' lab results. He needed to go back on one medication but nothing for the constipation since this has so much fluid in it. My cat stayed on this for 3 years until his death at age 20. This food was a lifesaver for me. Highly recommend!! January 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by All my cats love this! I have 4 cats (the youngest 1 year old, the oldest 9 years old) and also rescue/foster cats. All the cats I have love this. I purchase other flavors sometimes but it seems like Chicken & Herring is the most popular one. July 26, 2016
