Weruva is a line of luxurious natural and grain-free pet foods. Made in a human food facility, they gathered the best ingredients from around the world to make the best food for your best friend - for life. The factory operates at international human food processing standards, including that of the super-strict British Retail Consortium (BRC), and the pet food processing must pass BRC scrutiny.

Big Redeye is the unique ingredient here, sitting atop sardine cutlets and whole meat tuna. Fit for their carnivorous and nocturnal lifestyles, as you could guess, “bigeye” refers to this fish’s unusually large eyes. Native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Pacific and Indian Oceans, Bigeyes tend to live near rock outcroppings or reefs.

Feeding Instructions

Feed according to the age, size and activity of your cat. If fed alone, feed 1 oz for each pound of bodyweight daily, best fed twice a day. Your cat should have access to clean, fresh water. Refrigerate after opening.

Transition Instructions

Weruva always recommends switching your cat or dog's diet slowly and to adjust according to your pet's digestive stability. Typically, a 6 day transition suites most pet's needs. We recommend feeding a mix of 25% Weruva & 75% of the previous food for the first two days. For the next two days, feed 50% Weruva & 50% of the previous diet. Days 5 & 6, Feed 75% Weruva with 25% of the previous diet. Your pet should be fully adjusted to an exclusive high-quality Weruva diet thereafter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Best flavor! Both cats would jump through a ring of fire to get to this food. December 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic food My cats love all the Weruva foods, and I love that they are canned with integrity and have such high protein levels. This food has the highest protein levels of any canned foods that I've looked at, and my cats love it. November 28, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by The favorite around here One of my cats likes this stuff so much I have to feed it to her a spoonful at a time, otherwise she eats all of it so quickly she vomits. Really like how Weruva posts very detailed nutritional info for all of their foods on their website. Polynesian BBQ has a bit higher phosphorus content than I like, (one of my kitty's kidney values are less than perfect), so I've cut back on how frequently I feed it to them. If it were up to my cats, this is all they would eat. November 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product Best cat food I've ever purchased ! My cats live it and it's very healthy November 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cats thought it was yummy I didn't realize that this variety was in gelee. My cats usually don't like that kind, but they loved this variety. Even the pickiest eaters ate it. September 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cat's clean the bowl I like having good quality food for my felines and while anything with BBQ in it might sound strange to give to a cat, it's not. Not only was I impressed by the chunks of fish, I was impressed by how clean the bowls are in minutes. I received this as a sample at a local food store and that was fortunate for my cats... Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy for My Cats to Eat My cats really like this food, one more than the other, but both eat it without complaints. I'm torn because of the carrageenan in it, which I believe is a derivative of kelp but potentially harmful to the intestines. At the same time it helps provide a gelatinous texture which helps my kitties scarf it up easily, (unlike some of the other weruva recipes which use "pulled" strands of meat like "Paw Lick'n Chick'n"). My one cat has a difficult time licking up strands of meat. He does better with little chunks. The main Weruva fish recipes tend to be gelatinous (Truluxe is watery). I prefer Polynesian BBQ over other fish recipes, because it seems to be the only recipe that doesn't have tuna (or other large Australian fish) that are known to be high in mercury content as the first ingredient. Sardines are the first ingredient, followed by tuna. In case, you are curious, you can visit Weruva's main website and see photos of all of the recipes to get an idea if it's something your cat will like. In short, this fish recipe is my favorite out of the entire Weruva line, based on texture, recipe and kitty approval. PS: There is a "Marbella Paella" recipe that includes mackerel as the first ingredient, but I was wary of the possibility of farm-raised shrimp. I doubt that the shrimp is wild-caught, but I have not confirmed this. My belief is that if it were wild caught shrimp, they would advertise this. Probably cost prohibitive. September 10, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Clean food For the life of me I can't figure out why my two cats won't eat this. It looks like clean fish in juice to me. March 24, 2016
