We have used WB cat litter for many years. We've always had 4+ cats in the house and currently have 6. It's long-lasting, scoops easily, dust-free and easily disposed off. Another review indicated a strong ammonia smell. It is possible the cat's urine is very concentrated and putting out that strong ammonia smell. The litter itself, typically smells fresh, even with daily use. I have been told by my vet the ammonia smell comes from the cat, when the urine is very concentrated and can sometimes indicate the cat may be dehydrated or possibly ill. At one point, there was a strong ammonia odor in one of our litter boxes. I figured out which cat it was, took him to the vet and discovered he had an infection. Some meds and change of diet, no more ammonia smell. I will continue to buy WB because it really works best for our family of felines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EmmeBee Upgrade from Single to Multi
I began using the regular World's Best Cat Litter with my previous kitty before she passed, and she and I really liked it. (Prior to that, we had been on the pine pellets, but I stopped using that because I was tired of dumping pee-soaked sawdust and it did nothing to mitigate the smell of solid waste.) When I adopted two more cats over a year later, then I started to notice how badly the clumps would all apart. It didn't seem to take long for the entire area to develop a lingering cat-pee smell, even after cleaning the litter box, because those clumps broke up so easily and the urine-soaked particles stayed constant until I changed out the litter entirely. Eventually the lightbulb came on to move up to the multiple cat formula, and it's a game-changer. I really appreciate how the charcoal activates when they use it and it really controls the odor, and clumps like a champ. I'm still transitioning from the original formula, so there is a mix, but I only expect it to get better as the composition changes entirely to the multiple cat formula.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WandaL World's best cat litter for a reason
We tried this because the cattery where we bought our new kittens used it exclusively for kittens. They played in their water and then played in the litter, so usual clumping clay litter got in stuck in their paw pads and little noses. When we got them home all I had was the old clumping stuff and sure enough they immediately got into the water and then into the litter -- no good!
We bought this at WalMart the next day, but the price was much higher, so I found it at Chewy.com and put it on autoship. If the price goes back to $38 though, I'll have to cancel that. I think $23-$25 for 28 lbs is doable, but not more than that.
This litter clumps just as well as the regular clumping clay stuff but is a way healthier alternative.
We like the non-scented version. This smells like corn. I can't detect any urine odor after they've used the box. They are very good at thoroughly burying their little poo so that doesn't smell either.
There's very little dust. I couldn't detect any but noticed one morning my kitten had just come from the litter box, sat down in front of me and shook his paw before he started washing his face. The sun was hitting him just right so I saw a little bit of dust fly as he shook his paw. Other than that, I haven't noticed dust at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Marie No...don't do it.
I don't know what happened to reviews but people are way too nice these days. I was so excited by the reviews for this litter, I really thought I could get away from clay. How terribly wrong I was. There are only two ways I think I've really ever tortured myself. One was buying nonclumping cat litter in a pinch & thinking that might work. The other was buying this non clay litter. My husband now refuses to scoop the boxes because of the AWFUL smell of amonia that overwhelms the walk in closet under our stairs where we store 4 large litter boxes for 5 cats. Mind you we clean these boxes every other day but the smell that builds up in that room is eye watering, throat burning horrendous. This litter is not even comparable to the clay litter (scoop away from Costco) that never gives off this amonia odor. Sure it clumps ok...who cares when you can barely see what you're doing. And there isn't much dust to speak of. But I'll take a bit of dust if it means my husband will take his turn cleaning the boxes. In my opinion, this litter could turn to gold when peed on and I still wouldn't buy it again with that smell.

Rated 2 out of 5 by AmmyRose Really wanted to like this product
I wanted to try a new litter for my 3-year old cat who recently developed asthma. For reference, I normally use Dr Elseys but sometimes steer away from clay-litters. While I found The World's Best Litter (Scoopable, Multi-cat) to be low in dust, the smell is foul. It also seems to take a long time for clumps to form properly, which means if you have multiple cats or a pee monster of a cat, the newly formed clumps fall apart and create a mess in the clean box. It seems to track quite a bit, perhaps because it is rather light.
I would recommend also mixing half of this litter with your regular/previous litter, as my cats would not use a fresh box of this at first. Changes in litter texture, smell and color can require adjustment for fussy cats (i.e. My 2).
- Good price
- Low dust
- Smell, especially where urine is concerned
- Speed of clumps "drying" means messy litter-change

I've used World's Best Cat Litter for some time now.
Always good results. Cats like it which is good. Get more milage per bag which makes it cost effective. Chewy is great company to deal with. Low shipping cost is a real plus.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Patti It scoops really well however...
It created a lot of dust and had an odd aroma to it that seemed intensified with feces in the mix. We have four cats and five litter boxes. We liked how well this clumped and that any litter that tracked onto the wooden floor didn't scratch it like regular clay litter. So, we stocked up on it. Eventually we began seeing 'out of the box' litter habits forming from obviously two of the four cats. We'd gradually switched them over to this litter exclusively and once done with the transition is when the problem started. We changed out one of the boxes back to the original brand litter (Arm & Hammer) and they all were using just that one box. The boxes get cleaned, washed and litter renewed often so we are left to believe the cats had a meeting and agreed they all hated this brand of litter. ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dodo Wonderful and clumps well
I mixed the red or green bag with a little from the purple bag ( lavender) for my cat. This cat litter has worked wonders for us in the past one year. My cat was using the automatic litter box with crystal type of litter for years, when she had urinary track infection last year, the doctor recommended us to change the litter to something that is more hygienic. I'm so happy with this one, there's no smell and it clumps well. There's a bit of tracking but there's no dust. Most importantly, it's more hygienic that our old method. I highly recommend this. I only have one cat, but I use all three formulas, and among them, the green one clumps the best. Both my cat and I like the lavender scent from the purple bag also.
