Have been doing a trial comparing The World's Best Litter (which I have been using for many years) - was offered a free bag of Catalyst-Multicat & am VERY impressed with this product (that is better for the environment). I put too much into the litter box, which made it harder to sift through, but have to say that the clumping, odor control & LONGEVITY of this litter is amazing. Cats seem to prefer using this litter box (over World's Best & PETSAFE automated litter box). Am going all in after using up the World's Best. Keeping the automated litter boxes (using crystalized litter) b/c I have a large home & don't want any accidents. THANK YOU - CATALYST
I had been looking for a litter without dust that was lightweight, controlled odor, and all natural. Been using it for 3 months, and I was impressed at first. Then I noticed the agent that is added to help with clumping leaves a dusty residue, and when you wipe with a damp towel, it turns slimy and takes a bit of work to remove it from whatever surface it is on. Also, when sifting to remove just the clumps of litter, I had to shake the scooper so much to save the unused litter that the clump starts to fall apart. Love the smell and it being lightweight but I just can’t deal with the slimy dust and broken pieces of clumped litter.
I like the smell of this litter, but it's very strong and my cats hate it-they wont use it at all. It does clump very well, but it does not sift through the grate on the litter robot, so it isn't good for me. I think this could be a good product for a standard litter box if you have a cat that doesn't mind a strong cedar-like smell. I can say it clumps well enough and absorbs well enough that putting a bit in my litter robot for an hour or so loosens up the stuck on clumps of other litter making the globe easier to clean between deep cleans. Overall, for the price it was worth trying it at least, but I'll probably donate what's left of it because my cats hate it so much.
I bought this because I saw it advertised on Instagram and Tiktok as being good at concealing scent, as well as it being biodegradable. I have been trying various new litters recently, as I have 2 cats and dislike the smell being too potent in my small apartment. I was very disappointed to find out that it is not as good at concealing scent as it claims, and I am not a huge fan of the pine scent that it gives off. Overall, just not my favorite, and I think there are several other brands that I like more.
I made the switch from clay. My cats used this right away, however it does track some. It’s not super awful but it can get messy. It also can be a bit dusty at times and takes a bit more elbow grease to sift. As for smell it does smell like pine or woody and does a fairly good job at clumping pee and drying out poop. Doesn’t smell up the house like used clay would and is sure not as dusty. 8/10! Would buy again.
I thought I would git it a try as I love the walnut shell cat litter which can get pricey and hard to find at times. I will say i love this product, it has the fresh scent of the natural wood. It clumps very well and blocks odor very well. I'm very pleased with this product
Pros - lightweight and clumps well Cons - very very dusty! Made our cats smell like dust and scooping it was a mess for my allergies. It is also high tracking versus low tracking and got all over our bathroom from the cats using it. I personally will never buy again and I actually got a refund because we only used half the bag and just hated it.
We recently transitioned from clay litter to Catalyst and really like it so far. The biggest difference is the absence of unpleasant smells! Instead of cat waste, the only smell that the box emits is sawdust when they dig around. It clumps really well and is lightweight. Only drawback is that it does have some trace; there is a little bit of sawdust that is tracked out, but can be easily swept or vacuumed.
but no. This litter seems to stick to the cats paws like none other. Will be asking to return the other bags. Has a weird smell to it also. Was sure hoping this was going to be the new ticket!
I switched to Catalyst litter about 6 months ago. My cats and I have been happy with the texture and the smell even though it is un-scented it has a natural smell that is very pleasant.
