Do Not Buy!
By Sarah on Dec 28, 2020
I decided to try this litter with my two cats. We had been using Pretty Litter but unfortunately the odor and dust after 2weeks of use was really bad. My cats seemed to like it and had no trouble transitioning at all. Had a light pine smell to it which wasn’t bad. Clumps did break but it was not that big of a deal. After a few days of use, the litter was starting to release dust. My cats came out of the litter box covered in a white fine powder and it tracked everywhere!! My two black kitties had their paws and little faces covered in it. Even with litter mats, it was all over the carpets and couches. If tracking is an issue for you, do not buy. NO GO Wood
By NOGO on Dec 16, 2020
I have 4 full time cats and one part-time cat. I did an experiment in an effort to find the perfect liter. I have used Swheet Scoop for years. My daughters both like a clay based liter. We had both out in different boxes, plus this soft wood liter and another which is pine based. The Catalyst box has not been used once in two full months. I also feel it has an odd scent though it is "unscented."

The worst litter I have tried
By Kcat on Nov 13, 2020 Top 250 Contributor
This litter seemed like it was going to be great. I like to use wood base litter but this is just sawdust with a clumping agent. It smells so strong also. I only put it in one box we have 5 and when I came home the entire house smelled like it. Worst of all my cats wont use it (probably because of the smell) Does not clump well and the bag I purchased had a bunch of pellets mixed in. I would not bother with this brand unless they make several improvements. Try another brand not this one.

Catalys litter review
By Rachel000 on Nov 13, 2020
Like the concept of a sustainable litter but this has a bit of a weird odor and is very dusty. Not bad on tracking.

So far, I like it....
By Karmc on Nov 12, 2020
I’ve only started using this litter two days ago but so far I like it. It has a sort of “moist” saw dust texture, lightweight but not so light that it creates dust. It clumps relatively well, though some clumps do break apart into smaller clumps, which are still very easy to scoop so it’s not an issue. It does track slightly but way less than others I’ve tried. The only thing I’m on the fence about is the scent. While it is supposed to be unscented it does have a strong pine scent, which isn’t bad but it is strong. It seems to control odors very well, though. As someone who does rescue, with 47 cats currently in my care, a good litter is a necessity though pretty hard to find. Lightweight with decent odor control.
By CatRescue2020 on Nov 12, 2020
Very lightweight litter with decent odor control. Would suggest placing a pad around litter box to prevent tracking. Moderate absorption with good clumping ability. May want to mix with other types of litter to make all your litter go further. Decent odor control also.

Best I've Ever Tried
By CatMom on Oct 30, 2020
I've tried a lot of different "natural" litters trying to find a better option for the environment that actually works. This is the first one I've tried that works better than all the clay litter's I've used. The odor control is so good I've actually found myself forgetting to scoop the box. Great clumping too. I am a new customer for life!

Doesn't absorb well, does not work in Litter Robot
By SpookyEvilOne on Oct 30, 2020
Supposedly it absorbs but mine didn't do it well. One cat used the litter box and there was a small lake of urine sitting on top of the litter waiting to soak in - it was still there when the next cat jumped in and resulted in the need for a bath to get the urine and very lightweight sawdust off her feet. It's too light for the Litter Robot. It clogs up on the grid and just dumps all of it into the litter tray. Not happy with this litter, will not buy again, would not recommend.

Don't bother
By Lbkinflorida on Oct 22, 2020 Top 250 Contributor
We own/operate a special-needs cat sanctuary and we're always testing new litters. This litter has a strange and strong odor to it, making me glad we didn't test it inside. Instead, we used it on the enclosed courtyard where the cats hang out during the day. Pouring produced little dust. Unfortunately this litter does not clump whatsoever. I would equate it to using a box of sawdust. It was new, natural and unscented so I had to try it. A hard pass. Even my support staff gave the opinion of "horrible".

Finally a healthy litter that performs!
By Alioop on Oct 9, 2020
Hands down the best performing litter! Lasts over 1 month for my cat. No odor and no dust.
